Well it wouldn't really do anything, anyone who's coming on here will see the thousands of pages of people saying it's a money grab. They will also see the date of the last update.
The real issue is with the Patrons (basement virgins/coomers - already a lost cause) and the terms on Patreon. Even if DC doesn't deliver on anything like Discord roles and faster update access, the responsibility is still on the patron to stop payments and/or demand a refund. Patreon essentially says "not my problem coomer, more money for me".
So IMO for this type of stuff to not happen:
The legal solution is to have an FTC violation case against Patreon for deceptive practices or knowingly allowing misrepresentation/fraud to happen. This is very hard to prove since you need multiple cases where creators committed outright fraud and Patreon did nothing but collect the money. You could also maybe have a case against DC and name Patreon in it? Idk
The easier "non-legal" solution would be to get a bunch of game journalists to take interest in this issue, followed up by having youtubers (*cough* *cough* moistcriti *cough*) make videos and people on twitter/X complaining. This would catch Patreon's eye since it makes them look bad to investors and gets the FTC on their ass. They'll most likely give DC a warning that they will come after him if he continues and they get more complaints.
How fucking delusional are you people? Do you genuinely think the FTC would give ZERO fucks about a poon game on Patreon? This forum is sure getting a reputation for crying...whining...and mass reporting devs. What do you guys think this accomplishes? Honestly...
People posting on a .to pirate site that actively steals creator content....going to a crowd funding source and complaining about not being able to steal the content fast enough....wants to get a government agency involved and chase legal remedies in order to get their 2D batin' on....you guys are hilarious.
