$250,000 went into this update's development and content rework over a period of 5 months.
Imagine earning between your intentionally slim team, over $600,000 a year, and having the gall to push something like this out, then having people lucidly defend your practice under the blanket excuse that it's hard to make because it's drawn, like SS is some sort of magical pioneer of VNs. I'm not debating whether it's difficult to make; it most certainly is, but with this kind of revenue, and the absolutely feasible notion of expanding your team, is the proportional amount of content we received here from one of the highest paid western VNs there is, really satisfactory on that scale? I have to say, I'm disappointed, but I'm not particularly surprised. DC used to do so much better when he wasn't earning as much, but it seems the waters have been tested, and given the continued support, he's made his decision. And who can really blame him? It's been flaccidly allowed to happen by his patreons without much in the ways of any financial repercussion. So I guess, why not? It seems this is what paying people are content with, and that's their prerogative.
It's pretty clear what's going on here, and it's truly a damn shame.
See you in 5 months. Maybe...?
