Ren'Py - Summertime Saga [v21.0.0 wip.5003] [Kompas Productions]

Sadly this game has reached rock bottom and started digging, to see a game fall this far is so sad, this has been one of my favourite games for a long time and has some of my favourite kinks most of which are quite rare to see so i really dissapointed it has got to this level.

The 2 main things that have gone down hill are the characters and the story, when this game first started the story had a lot of promise but now its like someone asked a 12yo who interns at CNN to write a mob story and this is the result.

Most of the things that go on in the story make no sense examples: after that the story devolves into one thing
As for the characters the MC is empty, if they said he had an iq of 6 i would be surprised its that high, he has never heard of any phrase ever(watching him fail to get every single saying that exists is just sad), he takes every single thing said to him at face value(dosent seem to know what sarcasm or joking is), will follow any order he is given without question no matter how dumb(even from long term enemies/bullies but for some reason not his sister) and forget about thinking ahead this MC cant even think in the moment and has to be told to think, honestly if at the end of the game they revealed he was actually an alien who had no concept of human emotions it would have made the character make more sense.

Moving on to the women, the vast majority of them are horrible truly horrible people that any normal person would want nothing to do with but the MC does with the attitude of i'm a man and men like sex so any sex is good even if its blackmail sex, forced sex, used for your body alone sex, pity sex, drunk sex, on and on but really if you reversed the rolls quite a lot of the sex in this game would raise red flags and no you dont get a choice with which women to have sex with.

Alot of the sex scenes are really poorly done and lose any form of erotism.

The incest content has degraded to the point that it would take a major rewrite to add it to the game again.

There is very little left of this game from its original start.

I have been on and off playing this game for a while. Enough that I feel I can properly give my opinion on it via a review.

The game itself, and the premise behind it, is fantastic. I love the game. However, the art, while the updates have made the characters more defined and their assets stand out more, it has also come with a problem. Which is what I want to focus on first, my biggest grievance before getting into anything else.

On a personal note, the Eve changes are not my favorite, but as feelings shouldn't be taken into account here I'll get to my point.

With the new updated art style, making characters more pronounced in their over world images and sprites when talking to them, it has made sex scenes less than desirable. When entering sex scenes now it is as if you are in a water color painting.

I understand that they have attempted to smooth things over with their animations, and that's a great thing, but it has led to the sex scenes feeling as if you are watching water color paintings fuck. The models are not as crisp as their over world sprites and images used in dialogue, which is a HUGE let down whenever you get to a sex scene for most of the characters. It's like they are playdough that is being mashed together.

That being said, it's my biggest grievance with the game. I hope that they make the sex scenes more define and the characters look less like playdough in the future when having the sex scenes cause the characters themselves and the designs are absolutely beautiful. My biggest, personal regret, is Eve. I wish there was so much more with her, positions, appearances, places to screw, more to do, but that's not part of the review.

The story overall is coming together, and I hope they don't do anything too drastic despite the heavy story. I don't want to see anything too bad happen to the characters.

The world, the characters, and the design overall are extremely well done, and aside from me waiting for more content (Looking at you Lopez and Martinez, as well as you Yumi and Ronda...even would love getting a crack at that Nun) the game is amazing and I recommend playing this.

Art: 7/10
Story: 5/10 (It's just getting started, but what there is, is good, but worries me and can be improved upon).
Characters: 10/10. Aside from my own personal grievances with Eve, the characters are all amazingly designed and well thought out.
Sex Scenes: 7/10. The playdough sex scenes is a turn off, and more positions would be nice for some characters, but over all it's really good.
Animations: 8/10. The animations are smooth and nice, and aside from the playdough comments and a few janky/weird animations it is really good.
Sound: 4/10. The soundtrack is upbeat and nice, but repetitive...especially the school sounds. There are no voices, or even any noise from characters which is a HUGE letdown, but I have heard it will be improved and implemented later. So here's to hoping!
Gameplay: 6/10. The only reason this isn't higher is because the minigames are repetitive and sometimes annoying. The "Go here, get that, find this" errand boy thing, while I understand the reasoning, is a bit meh and time consuming, but it wouldn't be a game without it, right?

This could be improved, and mostly like will in the future, but for now my rating for the game is a solid 8.5 out of 10.

I love this game, and look forward to more updates, but as I have played this game for a while and been watching it I thought it was time to finally give my review and thoughts on the game.

I really don't wanna see this game ever finished. Every update is worth to play. My only problem is being have to play it all over again. It's frustrating but pros are much more than cons.

Having played through Summertime Saga and gone through the various updates, I feel like it is now the best time to give my input as we seem to be nearly quarter through the completion of the game.

In my personal opinion, Summertime Saga is the current "golden standard" amongst Patreon-funded games within this genre. It has excellent quality, incredible content, and while the times between updates can be quite long, it is alleviated by the constant updates the creator gives on the matter.

The strongest point of the game to me would have to be the MC as he is a good-natured person. Unlike other games within this genre such as MILF CIty, I find myself liking the main character as he comes off as a quite realistic and seems to try to do his best. He has doubts, flaws, and even seems to want to do his best. While he has moments where I wish he had a spin, I realize that it just isn't in him within those scenarios and find myself okay with it.

The other characters through the game are quite great as well. Every person within this game has their own issues and problems that makes me want to dive deeper into them. Even Dexter, the Grade-A Douchebag. There isn't anyone who I don't wanna learn about and I have to say in this latest update, I really felt for Tony and Maria, having learned about their past and the issues they currently face while they go so far as to help your character out. I didn't think the story would be so good but I was gladly proven to be wrong.

In my opinion, stick with Summertime Saga. While it does have its dry spells, those depend on the level of content he is implementing within the game. I can't wait to see how much the game changes by the time we reach the 0.50v.

This game had a lot of promise, as it stands now this has to be the buggiest game on this site, you save your game & when you switch it off & later go back to the game 9 times out of 10 you end up repeating a cycle of the same quest over & over again, I can't believe this mess has 4 out of 5 stars considering how easy it is to run into the MANY bugs throughout

I wasn't positive about this game at first but then i just fell in love with EVERYTHING about it!!! Story, characters, diversity, music, fun and sex scenes. Everything for me is perfect. And hope we will see a lot more in the upcoming updates as well)

Honestly, I really enjoyed my time with this game.
These is so much to do, many different paths to take and there is definitely a lot of content her. The mini-games are to cumbersome as well, which is always a pleasant bonus.
At wont point, my game got stuck on a loop, I completed a story and the next day the game made me do the final mission again because it didn't remember I had done it.
Loading a previous save fixed that issue.

Pioneer. Can't really put it like anything else, everything is just really good. The atmosphere that the game has in general is precious, delicately well made, characters, music, writing. Don't hesitate and try it out because it's an unique experience. Recommended for people just starting out with lewd games, it introduces you into this world really well.

This is a very bipolar game... and it is a game, in a true sense... but it's a lazy mobile type game with incredible grind and very sketchy and uneven mechanics for each minigame... some are super easy... some impossibly hard (the music game is touchy as hell- same with basketball). But these games break whatever spell the story might have had as you fumble with unclear mechanics and walkthrough Google searches....

And at times the story does have charm. At times it's funny. At times it's touching. And some of the characters win you over and you root for their storyline and success. But this is very scattershot, throughout. Some of the intimate scenes are well done with good buildup. But ultimately it's all cheap and passionless in the end when you realize there is no real consequence to anything.

Midway when advancing with a character the game warns you "choices have consequences" but they really don't. You can bed everyone... have relationships with them all... and they never come into conflict with each other. The few times when outside characters are involved in a romantic subplot, it's free-wheeling good times for all... no one cares or is jealous.

And when you've reach the end of a storyline for each main character, that's it. You've won them as a girl friend and the remaining interaction you have with them is to just visit them whenever and revisit the same sex scene you had with them last.

It's a decent little game... but a very poor visual novel. It squanders whatever emotional attachment you get with any character with a childish base conclusion.

A real big problem this game has is the story is all over the place. If you somehow manage to get further along with particular characters than their side stories (very easy to do--probably impossible to avoid even in a perfect walkthrough), things get wonky with the narrative. Say you just beat the jock in the hallway, well, now you visit him at the park and he bullies you again. The game is all over the map with remembering key events because the game exists in different realities... there is the main quest for each character, but there is also side quests where they don't remember the state of the main quests. It breaks any immersion, and this game was already lacking in that department going in.

The animations and drawing is well done, in a Playboy cartoon type way... it's quality work. But I'm not sure how hot it is... it's funnier than hot. Very few animations or artwork in this did anything to arouse me. Some of the writing did, at times... but that spell was broken easily by the format of the game... the time of day and the limited number of actions often breaks the narrative flow of whatever you were dealing with.

There's a bit of humor in some of the characters and dialog. It has a lot of pop culture references that I assume contribute to it's higher rating and the success of the author in crowd sourcing.... but to me, at times, it felt like pandering. These work best when left ambiguous and unexplained (the Breakfast Club detention scene was well done) and don't work at all when on-the-nose and obvious... I'm looking at you, Keanu...

I also think the MC is kinda weak... at time's he is thoughful and caring... sometimes he provides insight... especially with regards to Roxxy and Eve in their early storylines... but most of the time he is just a raging boner walking through life oblivious as women fling themselves at his schlong. There was zero self-identifying with this guy. Not even when I think back to how highschool was... he has no discernible personality. And in regards to the early storylines of Eve and Roxxy, both are treated almost serious with their life situations and history... you read their history and you begin to care for them... but this goes out the window right away and they are again reduced to cartoon bimbos wanting a good lay. And then when you start dealing with the teachers and some of the other stories that are outlandishly childish and lack any basis in reality, it makes you feel dumb for having felt anything in the brief moments this takes narrative seriously... It's schizophrenic, emotionally. Frustrating.

THERE IS NO BACK BUTTON. This bothered me immensely... you MUST continuously save your game, before mini games, before choices, when you wake in the morning... before u sleep... just all the time. I'm pretty sure they left this out to "make choices matter"... but it was more annoying than anything. The sheer ton of mundane dialog in some scenes get's you clicking fast through dialog and then you miss something, want to go back, but you can't... or what about if you happened to enjoy a particular piece of art... gotta reload everything. Hopefully you saved 20 seconds ago...

In short: this is all over the place... It gives you a ton to do, but it's all ultimately pointless, frustrating, and soulless. The flaws far outweigh the good.

My first and favorite adult game, Actually this game was the reason I got here. After searching for some news I got here

Positive points:
-The story is interesting and mysterious, to make you always not enough from play to know more.

-Script writing and events are very convincing and satisfying " Not fast or slow ".

-Character, design and personality really good, i loved everyone girl or milf ' until now'.

-Sex scenes and animation are also very good. Erotic sometimes and romantic other times.

Negative points:

- Updates always take long time.

- Some update are also short.

- Going slow to uncover mystery.

After all, the game is really great and I RECOMMEND it VERY much.

One of the best games out there by far. Not only the art is very good and has a very unique style, but the story is one of the best parts of it. Highly recommended and I hope to see it completed one day.

Of all the games on this site, this was the one that made me hard and also got me laughing at the same time. It's a funny, sexy, kinky adventure story that should be an instant classic, even in the non-porn game world. The writing and art reminds me of the classic point-and-click games like Monkey Island and Broken Sword. The dialogs are spot on, witty, and very believable. The MC is lovable, the girls are cute, and the sex animations are just right. And the minigames are fun to play and not at all a tedious chore. Try it out, and you'll love it.

Definitely a very good game. Plot, graphics, performance. Changing the musical challenge in the park is a big simplification. Engaging characters reminiscent of those from the real world is an interesting idea. I look forward to the next updates.

I enjoyed Sumertime Saga quite a bit. The art was good, the writing reasonable, and I enjoyed a lot of the plot lines. I do think there are some buggy triggers and situations that make the game a bit of a drag in places. I definitely got stuck on a couple of girls on various storylines.

So I've recently jumped into this genre when I found out there's a ton of lewd games out there after finding this forum mentioned on reddit. Summertime saga was heavily recommended all over the place as so I thought I should definitely give it a whirl ... but I do not get the appeal... especially now having played a ton of other better games.

So lets get the pro out of the way first. It's super well polished ... the UI, art, everything like that is on point.

However. It's just real boring. You spend ages, and I mean aaaaages running around doing mindless boring tasks and minigames slowly getting to the point where you can have some smut with the characters of your choosing ... but then there's not actually that many scenes or different stuff you can do with them ... also add in the fact that when you knock them up (and as someone who's well into impregnation you better believe I put a baby in everyone) then it actually locks you out of a bunch of stuff...

Maybe I'm being too hard on it, like I'll keep my save and check back when the game is finished and hope I've got all the boring stuff out of the way ... like I am curious what the hell is going on with the men in suits lurking around... but I really wouldn't recommend this to anyone... if someone wants smut then there's not nearly enough of it, and if someone just wants a fun game to play then there's plenty of them out there with more entertaining gameplay loops.

So, I have been a Cookie addict patreon (20$ tier) for close to a year now, just passed 11 months, and I have to say I really love the game. The art is unique and a lovable story with a great cast of characters, a bit for everyone I feel, pretty much anyone. You have a ton of choices and possibility’s, fun eastereggs and even the possibility to pop out a couple of kids! It also has many great game mechanics, with minigames to lvl up your stats and such.
