So what your saying is you didn't learn anything even remotely related to your job while working at your job. Good to know.
At this point I don't know if you are being obtuse on purpose or just trolling...

Really adds to his "I worked in the gaming industry" talk.
Do you think the Anthony and Joe Russo could have sat down and started working on the animation work once they were done the principal photography of Avengers: Infinity War? No, because you typically have specialization of labour on large projects.

The bottleneck remains the art and DC absolutely refuses to let anyone else touch it because he'd make less money if he sped that up and it gives him an eternal excuses to be slow and milk it.
It's not absolutely refuses when he has had other artists audition to work with him.

Because he worked in the gaming industry he has to know how to code? Especially in Python, the language Ren'Py uses?

Well, I work in the printing industry. But I couldn't operate a Heidelberg Speedmaster nor a Fujifilm Jet Press. But guess what, the printer, the man/woman working those machines I mentioned, couldn't do my job either, namely typesetting or imposition.

Who'd a thunk an entire industry could encompass different and highly specialised jobs?!
Thing is, when it comes down to the gaming industry and more specifically small developers, at least in programming, there aren't all that many alternatives - C++/C#, Python and Java are either the biggest ones or the ones most commonly used. While being very much different in syntax, many ideas behind what object-oriented programming entails and how it's applied do not change based on language. Learn one language, learn them all... mostly, and what you haven't learned yet, it's documented somewhere so to make it simple:

Once you grasp the concepts behind the actual act of planning out what a program can do and what it should do for you as a dev, it's only a matter of setting it all up by planning the general structure, maybe making it modular and then putting it into code, regardless of language (to a degree).

EDIT: I just also realized, "gaming industry" entails quite a large spectrum of work - there's also the possibility he was working in the games industry, but not in a field that is specific to programming. More likely it would be that he was a designer or artist, given the spin and unique artwork. So, either direction is valid. So if he has been working, but not as a programmer, your point totally is valid, I merely wanted to point out a flaw in your reasoning in the post you made.

So my STR and DEX are maxed out as it says in my status bar (Its full 10/10) however i still can't get the big guy to help me bench when Kevin isn't there.

Also some DEX related scenes are still unavailable as the shower Scene with Jenny, says i'm not high enough in DEX even tho its 10/10.

Does DEX/STR go higher than the displayed parameters or is it just unfinished content?
The big guy will never help you lift, at least not in the current version.

The scenes with Jenny are misleading and will be fixed or replaced in the next update. They say you don't have enough dex, when you actually have to have high dex and do certain events. I'm afraid I don't remember which events, though... have you had sex in her bed at night? (not the handcuff scene) I know you have to do that before the shower scene will unlock.

No stat goes above ten, it's just misleading.

I can only shake my head at people trying to snipe on DC's "gaming industry" experience when it's very well known that the experience can vary from person to person, from country to country, and everywhere in between.

Ya'll do know that some game makers come into the adult gaming industry and work as hobbyists because of the massive stress and massive income going to CEOs and shareholders, right? Huge disparity and it's not like DC is the first to come around here. The Future Fragments group has a person from the AAA gaming industry and they're making a Mega Man sexy knock off.

Should they get similar criticisms?

As I've used the search function to actually check through the thread, it is true that he worked as an artist, not a programmer, I'll grant you that any day. Nevertheless, do not forget that this is the internet, people will always find ammo to make their voice heard, regardless of how true a statement holds up. I'm honestly at this point worried that the ambition, which seems to grow rapidly at this point, might turn this project into an Icarus' Flight of some kind and I could even give out a great example of another crowdfunded project which got so overblown it missed it's release schedule by a mile because of grand ambitions - Star Citizen.

To come back to the sniping issue at hand - from my perspective at least: the problem with that is that if you play the "I worked in [insert job here]"-card or just give out this information to your audience for whatever reason, be it gaining goodwill, trust or followers, you forfeit the right to be defended on account of lacking experience in a field, as that statement would include said experience to begin with, invalidating it. If he did actually do that to quell arguments or not, I couldn't find, yet this is how I see it.

And yes, I'd give anybody criticism for anything, that's what I'm here for.

It's almost like he should use some of that money he makes to hire more people or something.

Notice how he conveniently didn't hire any to help him speed things along. The internet is crawling with talent. A few hundred million people have access and he can't find one. If you believe that I have a bridge in Brooklyn you can get for a great price.

This is an outright lie he has hired coder, writer, and poser. You this because Dogeek posted on the forum.

Hey, it's almost like you've ignored his comments about the situation over and over. He tried out at least one person for art, it didn't work out. And he hired multiple other people to help on the project.

Please go troll elsewhere, you really add nothing to this thread.

Well, not really, the "secret" 17.5 update was released shortly before christmas and they took the holidays off. So apart from some minor work in november/december they started in the first week of january. That means we are basically 60-something days in.
Mh, that's not totally true either. Actually DC started drawning for this update even before the 0.17 was released.

Well, yes, he started drawing on stream but that's just a small part of his time. In the end we don't know how much time he spend on 0.18 off stream. I mean, he could hardly say that he's drawing for a seceret update, but I still remember that people complained how slow the dev tracker moved before christmas.

There's plenty of failed Kickstarter, Patreon, and other games out there. I followed a neat little Flash game that looked promising and that blew up. Same with another farming game that had issues before it. As it stands, we're seeing the process where games were made in the dark for 3 years with funding from a large publisher to do so. We don't have those type of games.

So DC has a new dynamic which you don't see anywhere else except in the adult gaming and indie scene. So I acknowledge that projects end in failure and abandonment.

How much has he finished? I'd say 40%? Not even? So it's going to be a while. It just feels longer because production still takes a while.

I really haven't seen DC "defend" himself from this. It's been his experience, nothing more or less. What butters my biscuits is that people use that to just run him in the ground with the same commentary over and over again about how he's in this for the money or whatever which just sounds and looks ridiculous to me.

To be fair, it all boils down to money anyways - people who don't do certain pieces of work are either filthy rich to begin with or insane.

I doubt it's his ulterior motive to milk the game, but on the other hand it earns the bread.

Though I do think that DC is rather relaxed in that regard. His plan was to freelance and to start creating something on his own besides that. SS was his attempt to teach himself coding a little. He basically drew Roxxy, started coding around, some liked it, he added MC and that's how everything came to pass.

He said a while ago that he'd always be working on games and if the money won't be enough to get by, he'd start freelancing again working on the game in his freetime.

So yes, money is essential, but I can't see DC shifting his way just because he doesn't earn as much as he did before.

character updates.jpg
I like the new character updates, some are fairly subtle, some are IMHO total makeovers. Eve is my Favorite, her face and body are Much cuter/sexy. Martinez is the 2nd biggest makeover (perhaps Lopez too). Cassies's body looks Great... MUCH more life a Lifeguard's body with big tits. Speaking of Big B00Bs, are Debbie's tits even Bigger? Nice!

PS: Everyone whining about the time frame for releases... give it a rest. There are AT LEAST 200 pages of complaining about release delays... Go read those before posting new whines. I believe it was V0.15 release that the Moderators actually closed the thread to posts because of all the spam.

I'm pretty sure Darkcookie has upfront billing (charged immediately) for donating on Patroen, so donate after a new release, then cancel immediately so you aren't billed for months and months between releases... Just a thought.

Hi,
It felt Roxy update was rushed, and also graphics suffered because of that, last Diane update lacked content, then I stopped my patronage and i tried to find different games. For me Milfy City is something i wait for. I am not so eager for Summertime Saga anymore.

Yours might be the first time I've seen someone say the Roxxy update wasn't great. For sure I feel this game won't have much for you if you don't like that update.

Edit: first* time
