Agreed, really loved the Roxy update. Feels like he leaned a little to heavily on the pizza delivery to stretch out the time played. Take that out and there really isn't much to 0.20.
It's exactly this, if it weren't for the deliveries you would just visit Tony 5 times or so in a row with no thinking, searching, or even any external interactions outside of Tony/Maria and the car lot. It ends up feeling like a grind just with the same payoff each time. Oh look, a new vehicle. Even the character development is stale, the entire thing boils down to Tony is in the Mafia and wants a baby.
This is before you even mention that the game doesn't even check if you can afford the Overcompensator to begin with, and forces you to go through seemingly pointless stages if you can.
Compared to the Roxy update where you got multiple locations, interesting character development with Roxy. You learn she isn't such a bitch, she learns popularity isn't the be all and end all. She learns she can do things herself she doesn't have to cheat. Becca has character development where she gets over her prejudices too. You got action with a Dexter fight, you got interesting funny little choices like "I'll do it for the lolipop."
You end up getting 8 scenes too, compared to 6 in this update. 3 of those 6 scenes were fucking weird. Tina is a widow who you meet in passing, twice, and doesn't even seem that interested in you. For some reason she just suddenly jumps your bones out of nowhere. Josephine in my opinion is even worse. She does
NOTHING for the MC from the moment you meet her. Literally ignores you, is completely vapid and one dimensional. Makes out with you for completely selfish reasons, and is bitchy about it while she does. Then gives you a blowjob, out of nowhere.
All in all, not only is the amount of playtime artificially extended, but the amount of writing and the quality of writing took a serious nosedive this update. I've never really felt too annoyed over the update speed in the past because I know it's only one guy drawing it. They always seemed really good when an update finally landed. This one just felt sloppy all-round.
