How does this site affect patreon ? Quite a lot considering that most people wouldn't even know about existance of most of the games here without this site in the first place. Devs begrudgingly relize that this site is major advertizer for their games.
Edit: Abandon tag can turn potential backers away.
For the average adult game developer that makes less than $100 per month on Patreon (Yes, that is what the median adult game developer receives from subscribers... even after more than 2 years on that platform)? Yes, F95 can help them increase consumer awareness and something posted on this site might be a major influence.
For a developer who has been active for over 7 years and has over 33 million search results on Google for their game? Over 5 million of those being video results? A game that widely used tiktok hashtags? A game that has been downloaded over 100 million times across various platforms over the years (nearly 70 million downloads of the android version on one site, alone --- and it's not this site that I'm talking about)? A game that has popular memes in "mainstream" social media? No. Whatever is said in this thread has very little influence on the success/bottom line. Bitching and moaning by people in this thread is simply farting in the wind. An "abandoned" tag changes little to nothing on the financials. Back in 2016 it could have. Now, no, not so much.
Of the 6.6 million F95 members who come to this site, most don't even read the threads. They just download and go (the average member with an account posts fewer than 2 posts, themselves). So every time someone posts a whining lament here, they only bring the game up to the top of the queue for people to look at and download. Every whine in here only INCREASES visibility.
Also, one of DC's biggest consumer base doesn't even speak/read English. They frequent other sites which are in their languages more often than coming here. And they are downloading to play on their phones, which is one of the major reasons for the tech update - to give mobile users a better experiences in playing.
So, no. An "abandoned" tag is only a placebo for people on this site who think it actually matters. It doesn't. At least not for the more popular adult games.
