One thing to note, Patreon is a US-based (California) company. That means US and CA regulators, and companies are not super keen to publicize that they are under regulatory scrutiny (I know from direct experience). I'm not saying that's definitely what's going on here, but it wouldn't surprise me.
The company's founders don't strike me as particularly moralistic, and this kind of crackdown rarely happens outside some sort of pressure. The depiction of certain sex acts is illegal in the US, and incest is one of those things. So even though we're not talking about actual human beings in these games, there could well be some external pressure influencing events.
