I genuinely don't understand this mentality. If he finishes Summertime Saga then starts making a new game, are all of his patreons just gonna unsub or something? Does everyone just care about this game and no others from DC? Can DC only ever make one game????

You have the example of quite a few successful devs whose second Patreon porn game was far less successful than the first one.
Secondly, you just forgot that authors might simply have no idea of what to do next.
DC simply had an idea, and after a few months he stopped writing story and dialogues. Can't you see the difference between the older parts and the new stories?

Yeah but is not even that. Summertime saga is not even close to being finished, so if he would keep giving updates every 5-6 months like he did before he would have like 3 or 4 years of content just from that:
- Rhonda
- Annie
- Judith
- Highschool dance
- Roxxy and friends
- Debbie
- Latinas
- Teachers
- 500 extra Jenny scenes
- Erik and Tammy
- Priya
- And there are like 5 new characters in this update

This is absolutely hilarious. Kudos to everyone who predicted there would be a sudden "update" after the game was tagged abandoned.

Its nothing new. Ive seen other devs pull the same scam where they "remake" the game a bunch of times but its basically just the same thing.
