Dude, thanks for attempting to simplify my response to others' arguments... however you are doing so incorrectly.

The ones who are making the argument that simply because DC put out a statement at the end of the month (which he has been making reports at the end of the month for the past year) that they will eventually release a partial tech update in one month - in DC's words "hopefully" and then further chunks about every month after - proves he is concerned about this thread and the abandoned flag. And that his account logged in earlier in the day of the flag proves it in their mind.

My response to their argument is that: his account logs in regularly, therefore his logging in proves nothing. His announcing something in his regular monthly report to saying that something should be coming in the next month and bi-monthly thereafter isn't proof either. It doesn't change that the flag is applied, therefore does not prove he is concerned. Coincidence is also not causation. Finally, yes, if he was actually concerned, he would have taken a few hours out of the past 18 months and created another pretech update, even if it was nothing more than a few dozen lines of code and 2 animations from dildorog (as he has already done in the past pretechs). Making an announcement with no update changes nothing about the flag.

If you have problems with my responses - make sure to frame them properly and include the fact they are in direct response to the argument being presented. Otherwise, you are making fallacious statements, yourself, simply in an attempt to look superior and above the fray, and failing at both. I am not making a converse error.

Face it, Abandoned tag got applied, usual end of month update happened and for the first time in a year and a half it contains info regarding starting QA testing and outlining a path to release which is coincidentally totally vague with the planned time frame but suddenly out of the blue mentions segmenting out the update (in order to keep stringing people along indefinitely).

If DC isn't paying you to keep this up he certainly should be.

If he had dropped an updated on 30 April 2024, I would have great doubts about my statement that DC doesn't care about this thread. He did not drop an update. After 1 year of monthly reports (a nice, round and interestingly finite number) DC announced they would release what they have already completed - but had not shared with anyone - in small chunks, starting (DC states he hopes) before the end of the month of May. It did not alter the flag being applied. The flag which fucking doesn't matter except for on this site. But, like the sun rising each day and the cock crowing - one thinks it has influence on the other, when it has nothing to do except for alignment of each's own cycles.

EDIT: Also, if you think DC was paying me - wouldn't it be better for him to tell you that you all matter to him... not that you all don't amount to a hill of beans in his world? That logic always made no sense to me - the idea that I'm on DC's payroll (you're not the first to accuse or imply) while I say shit about DC's project management style and more and then tell everyone here he doesn't give a shit about F95's thread. That makes no sense and is illogical.

If I had been DC and if I had cared about the tag, I'd have released a small easter/holiday update which would also officially have included the Android 14 support. An urgent technical reason + some new content and few would have said anything. Marketing something like this, so that many people will agree it's something positive, really isn't hard.

It's actually bad in general, that he stopped doing these halloween, christmas, etc. updates, as they were quite popular, as far as I see it.

Right? It would have been so simple. They released an APK update about a month ago for Android 14. Just add in 2 dildorog animations and a couple of option buttons on two already made option screens that had sex scenes in them (now with 2 new alternative positions!). Recompile Win/Mac/Linux to join the new APK. Boom, the 18 month clock would have started all over again with almost no work involved for the main dev team.

They could have easily marketed it as "because we're doing this APK update, we thought we'd give everyone some added sex scenes." People would have bitched about only a couple of new scenes, but again, the updated APK would have been the reason, not the scenes. As it is -- all people got was the updated APK and no added scenes.

I see what you're getting at but I think that the alternate tag you are proposing is bound to cause more controversies and problems than any positives that could come out of it.

The On-Hold and the Abandoned Tags do their job pretty well usually. While this game is still getting worked on (even if it is at a snails pace), the game is tagged as abandoned by the forum's standards.

I'm as glad as anyone else that it's gotten the Abandoned tag, but it doesn't mean anything in this case if the developer comes back with fans waiting to give him a mountain of money. It's just going to get abandoned after its triumphant return anyway. More and more games are following suit. They either wait until right before it's declared abandoned, or return after being abandoned. They're not even worried about making quality content anymore once it hits that level.

Would you say that SS doesn't fit the standard for quality content?

As I see it, DC has taken the time to rework, expand and redraw almost everything, with some characters redone multiple times to improve the over all look and feel of the game.

As for the abandoned tag? You're right, it'll be removed in a short while, because he's continually working on the game, but I genuinely think it should remain on the thread until he releases his update. Those are the rules of this forum, and best to stick with them.

In the case of the monthly support he's getting? That's none of my business. I just know that I'm not paying anything.

I just want the updated and redrawn Debbie content. Whether its On Hold or Abandoned. I also thought that the sister would eventually fall in love with the MC, but I guess they decided not to go that route. And regardless of its quality, two years (without a "real" update) is just simply too long. The same goes for its monthly donations. The donors pay all that, and they're left to wait all that time in return. And Judith. We need our x-ray Judith creampie scene. Not in a bathroom either. In an actual bed.

You should probably ask in their threads. They are probably nonplussed about the chunky monkey updates that DC has planned, themselves. Or maybe not. Maybe they think this is good for them because they can work on little bits at a time instead of the whole thing at once. But, yeah.

If you're asking about the certain patch... that was fan made, soooooooooooooooo some fan will probably have to decide they neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - breathe - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed relationships a certain way and learn how to do language packs in order to write that patch.

And remember, folks, language packs and the patch work on the same (or at least they did) level - if you have a non-English language pack, it is not compatible with the patch.

Oh, god. That is something I hadn't considered until now. The community translations of the game. I mean, the script has changes as well as dialogue prompts and options buttons. Will the community translations now need to all be reworked because of the tech update? Maybe someone who knows could share their insight? For non-English players, not having a translation pack is going to s-u-u-ck.
