The porn aspect of Summertime Saga is it's main drawing point yet I enjoy playing the game and have a better experience playing an "in-depth" adult game than watching some porn.

I'd say that's something almost everybody will agree on.
Then again, there's whole range of games and while some literally throw some kind of lew content/sex at the player every second action, others do it differently. Neither is right/wrong or good/bad. Ultimately it's a all about the package and at least to me SS manages to create great nice atmosphere which most other games - especially 3D ones - can't reach. I mean, it's nothing new that SS "lacks" sex scenes compared to many other games. It's been like that from the start and it'll probably stay like that till the end.

Most people won't be playing just one game, so having some variety is actually not a bad thing.

Well, that did pretty much happen. The relaeses became a lot better in the meantime and saves started working years ago. It just seems like they realized pretty quickly that polishing the old turd wasn't enough and now it looks like it's bascially going to be a "new game".

I don't play exclusively for the porn. I just adds the spice to the right mixture of fun and naughtyness. Just like everywhere else.

Example 1: I just started my third playthrough of Rise of the Tomb Raider. And while it always was fun watching Lara's decently clothed backside, I only now discovered that there is the perfect nude mod out that was not there when I last played it. I mean, it's just the perfect game now. But I would never fap to it.

Example 2: Have you ever watched those infamous (unfortunately censored) japanese outpatient clinic porn parodies? I never was into censored porn, but I recently discovered how to create decent english subtitles for them. It's a complete different experience now.

I mean, who would ever think of an interview with a perfectly decent clothed nurse along the lines like "For patients, my body is just a medical device. So they can use me like they want. In deed, I am glad to be used like that", just before she gets banged in every japanese fashion you ever dreamt of, giving the second part of the interview immediately after.

What I want to say: the porn is not all, but it certainly adds the salt.

I am in total agreement. I like Games with a good story and the porn is icing on the cake. To me that is what makes an Adult Game. I don't fault people for just wanting the porn although I feel there are better ways to get that if all you are interested in is getting your rocks off.

I guess I'm different then. If this game wasn't adult themed I would most certainly not play it. Like I said, the writing, story and gameplay mechanics aren't good enough to be a decent game on it's own merit. But for an adult game it's pretty good and I like the content it has outside sex scenes as well.

You misunderstand me, I don't skip through the whole game to get to the lewd content or something. I enjoy playing adult games because well, they're games and they can offer a believable and interesting scenario/story where you can interact with people and maybe even make choices. It's not like I'm bored when there aren't titties bouncing on my screen but I wouldn't play SS for any other reason than to nut or just be horny.

Of course, it is a package deal. I don't think anyone would disagree with that, but I do disagree that 90% (or later he said 70%) of people playing porn games are just in it for the porn. On the other hand some people like ugly porn so the "good porn" as you say, is kind of in the eye of the beholder

Each pre-tech we think is the last pre-tech - but again, with everything involved with the tech update, “The best laid schemes o' mice an' men / Gang aft a-gley.” The art for the tech update is principally complete.

You could always attempt to get a firmer response from DC, himself, during one of his many picarto streams.
