Overview:
As Captain Kayto Shields, embark on a galactic voyage of heroism and survival.

Been years since I played these, but I think Mask of Arcadius had some H-content if you downloaded a patch from their site. Either way, the Sunrider games are good, and I recall enjoying this one. I think Liberation Day was the best one. I wouldn't go into this looking for fap material. That was definitely secondary to this game, if it even had any.

While the first trilogy is good, Sunrider 4 is a disappointment. They retcon stuff, ignore whatever choice you had in previous games, and mess it up seriously by the end. I'm sure the story was rewritten many times, it's visible at the beginning this was supposed to be a redemption story and ends up being an obsession story, without nothing in the previous chapters indicating that. And all that is followed by one of those chapters that you don't know what is real and what is not, and even the part that looks real also doesn't make sense.

It definitely had a scene for the childhood friend in their uni days flashback in the main story and then several "what ifs" at the end.

Agreed. The early games (including this one) don't seem like something special but they are pretty fun and work weirdly well. The 4th game just basically throws all that out to try and go in some edgy self-loathing direction that also isn't anything special and now isn't fun. Plus they messed up the combat significantly so the gameplay is awkward. Totally different system than all the other games.

Honestly, even though the first trilogy ends on a giant cliffhanger... you are probably better off stopping there than seeing where they 'go' with it (in as much as they even do).

that is the 3rd game, the first game had a lot of inuendo and a scene with the space princess in the shower masterbating to Cpt. Shields. 2nd game had more inuendo, discussions of child prostitution, and a topless scene and a sex scene with Shields and his XO from their university days when they were a couple. 3rd game which is not in this has a sex scene between Shields and one of the crew members as part of the cannon story, and then has a bunch of what if stories were shields can get a sex scene at the completion of each girls story. and the last game has no sex scenes at all, several body horror nude scenes and it is heavily implied that shields has been raped frequently in the proceeding time skip by his abusers but this is never shown. Sunrider is an amazing game with a great cast and great story, solid gameplay, but it is not really a porn game.

what changed? and if I'm not mistaken the series stopped being NSFW starting with the Captain's return which is respectable since the series is quite nice. On par with Fate series and this series is basically star trek meets star wars and anime
