It cater to specific niece of Dragon Quest V fan, yet i'm having trouble believing die-hard fan to even like the game.
From the beginning it gave an impression of playing DQ mixed with Professor Layton puzzle solving mechanic, a story where you help seasoned warrior with wisdom rather than might.
Well I was wrong. The game is 3% Puzzle, 7% Management, 90% Rpg!
The most notable game mechanic is having passive income generated from battling enemy found in traversing maps and dungeon, but it also add debt paying mechanic whenever the story progress.
I have never seen such bizarre gameplay decision where the pace is so slow, it penalized the player for advance the story too quickly, which makes me realize why developer shouldn't combine different game mechanic into one;
Don't get me wrong, it tries to have that at the 3 starting chapter but lose track after the rest.
Since it's rated as 18+ the writing can tackle a heavy handed subject narrative that most published game tiptoed in their experience, but the relationship still lean heavily on DQ ambiguity, Eri character felt forced and in the epilogue completely side lined for other DQ character cameo.
and after 8+ hour in, I began to realized... I'm not playing H-Rpg!
The game is arguably fun with the amount of fan service it gave, using the framework of DQ while adding unrefined mechanic would only lose the charm of the original framework.
Money is the problem yet at the same times it's not.
Player technically has infinite money deposit just waiting to turn into profit, so to lessen the grind, I whole hearty suggest to use cheat or edit the save file for maximum money just to stream line the experience.
It's hard to rate it higher since cheat is essential to experience the game as a whole, but maybe it's my impatience because the game does allow for New Game Plus+ experience.

- DQ or traditional RPG economy can make or break the game if you have absurd amount of money.
- and Tycoon game really has a problem when object that you brought or made lose HALVE of their value when selling them back as investment.
