Guys, we’re completely burned out (even more than before - yes, we’ve said this before, and yes, it turns out it is possible to burn out even more). But we’re not giving up. We’ll do our best to release the game in about 10-11 hours and start manually sending out keys right away, since SubscribeStar support is still asleep. We sincerely apologize once again for the delay. We’re pushing as hard as we can. Our asses are on fire, but we’re not backing down. Thank you all again for everything - we truly appreciate your patience.

Yeah, I hated it too. I hated writing every stupid, insipid, aimlessly wandering, overly bloated line of it in the end.

I hated what the characters became.
I hated what the *story* became.
I hated every inane decision under such *unique* leadership.
Most of all, I hated knowing what Taffy Tales could have been...

I hate not having the person who wrote Priscilla anymore, her relationship with Becca was good shit

i have an important question, can you point to a specific moment/update that made you fell like this? Like when was the fall exactly? i really hated some things since v0.47 and the NTR route was literally every character braindead, but i want to know if you think was maybe way sooner or after

Friend, I'm Brazilian and I live in Rio de Janeiro, I don't even know if I'll be alive tomorrow. I just want to have a good time seeing Darnell making out with MC's mother and his girlfriend
The update is apparently coming tomorrow, so we'll see if you can die happily and with no regrets :BootyTime:

Finally! He should already had a plan to get the game to his supporters on SS regardless of any drama with the Steam release.

You mean like simply uploading it to a filehost and sharing a link to his Epic Pie and higher a subscribers first? Would have taken the time to upload, copy/paste the link, and write a post available only to those subscribers. Like an hour, tops.
They should have done that 2 weeks ago when they submitted to Steam.

Uberpie: "Again, it's not my fault, guys! It never is! It is always someone else's fault why (pick one):
  1. It's not ready
  2. It doesn't work right
  3. It has a lot of problems
  4. It has typos from 0.17.0
  5. It still has bugs we've known about for years but haven't addressed
  6. It's not released yet
  7. The head writer left
Honest!"

Its weird. I mean, if they were ready to launch it on steam, there shouldn't be any last minutes "must have" works on it.

It's almost as if Uberpie is allergic to deadlines or something, right? Also, the Steam submission should have been the Epic Tier and higher release, anyway (per history and per tier benefits). And then fix the bugs for the full public release version.

Makes ya wonder if Steam took a longer time than normal... Or if Uberpie submitted it only a week prior to the planned release date and Steam took its usual time. However, if history is to be a judge of the likelihood...

Finally, I don't think Uberpie does this maliciously because one should “never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity” (Hanlon's Razor).

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. It's not rocket science and frankly, even if the Steam launch had gone off without a hitch he still had to send the game for his numerous subscribers. This should not have been an issue at all, but hey, at least he still is better than Dark Cookie.

That is strange in my book because uberpie don't have strict deadlines to begin with.
I mean, steam is not overly demanding in that regard, you can move release date, and subscribestar doesn't have them at all.

I assume that when you set a date yourself, you set it when you absolutely sure that it is done and ready, not make long term predictions.

When uberpie says "release Jan 28" I assume the game is ready around jan 10 and two weeks are for internal bug-test, to catch possible game breakers.
I dont see a reason to suddenly not release a game even if it has some amount of small bugs.

I will say there is one HUGE difference between those two developers (as well as several other differences). One paywalls their content and the other makes their content free to everyone. And for me that makes a it of a difference, both do exceptionally well in subscriptions (both are top 1% adult game developers in terms of subscriber $$$) - but one requires a subscription to "officially" get the product and the other doesn't require anyone to do anything. In fact the one who gives it away for free directly from their website reminds their subscribers that although subscription gets them a link 24 hours ahead of the public, the leaked version will be available much earlier than that.
