People really need to stop posting this as if it means it can't be criticized, criticism is about how much you enjoy a product, this isn't the first game that's gone down the shitter because a dev splits focus when they where already releasing some terrible updates before hand.

People need to stop projecting their own feelings on responses in this thread.

The person thought that NTR was a new idea and that they aren't interesting in NTR.

I was simply answering both of their concerns - the only part I didn't address was their shock of it being included because this has been discussed for nearly a year that the NTR update was this update. It's not about "it can't be criticized" -- you can criticize the quality of the content. Fuck man, I posted a 500 word criticism about the shoddy quality of Uberpie's work earlier today. It's about making sure people have the correct information to work from.

Does anyone happen to have v0.89.8c. Not the b version. I'm hoping the c version will actually work and not just have black screens (even the gallery images just shows black screens) for anything other than the menu screens. I can see the images and videos if I download them (thanks to the person that uploaded them!).

Only game I've ever had a problem and only version that hasn't worked. Last version I played was v0.82.4b and that worked just fine. Was hoping to catch up in v0.89.8 (tried that and both the "a" and "b" version).

v0.95.7 works fine (doesn't help since it doesn't have the content I haven't played), so I'm hoping that whatever was buggy in v0.89.8b was fixed in c and carried over to the latest version.

Thank goodness v0.95.7 doesn't do that. Obviously unplayable in that condition. So, to reiterate, any kind soul have v0.89.8c that I could try out to see if it's fixed like v0.95.7 is?

v0.89.8c did not fix the problem you are having. Your best bet is to download my speed run playthrough video for v0.89.8b from #25,478 to see the content you are missing. It isn't censored, unlike the YouTube playthroughs that people have posted online.

I've been following this game for almost 3 years now, supported it on Patreon for a while, and has been one of my go-to's for replayability. Simply seeing an update come through on the forums was enough to get the motor running in anticipation. Man, how times have changed.

4 Solid updates last year, all within a few months of each other. Now this?
EDIT: Count Morado pointed out that there were only 2 solid updates since 2021. While the wait was painful, we could at least expect to be rewarded with USDA-Certified Prime Content for our patience; however, this update feels more like a non-consensual slap across the face. Khurby summed it up nicely...



Fucking 1000000% this. This update lacked a substantial amount of the content that we expect from UberPie and was a huge disappointment for how long the wait was. The Main Route starts out great with the first scene and the intro of Darnell's Mom, but then falls completely on its face. The dog collar with Mary scene could have been so much more than what it was. I even played the game back to get the alternate event for that scene in the hopes of SOMETHING happening but nope. Notta.

I hate NTR and actively avoid it on any game I play and I even played the NTR Route just to see the rest of the content and man was I disappointed from the jump. Arguably the most interesting thing that happens this update is the introduction of the new character and that was only for the NTR Route while the Main route gets to fuck 2 characters that we already have before (including a shitty AI take) in the least exciting ways possible. MC feels neutered in the Main Route update and turns into a complete bitch in the NTR route, which is a complete departure from what the game builds up to from seasons 1 - 4 (we're calling them seasons now?). The NTR route should split off way earlier in the game than where it does right now. It just doesn't make narrative sense.

This release is also hot fucking garbage when it comes to performance and stability. I'm going through the scenes again as I write this and the gallery playback is dogshit. Doing anything takes an absurdly long time to load if it doesn't crash.

You are wrong. It's well established that the path towards netorare is in the first couple of in-game days in the content, in the introduction. The netorare (ntr) route is weaved throughout, it's just that it appears it was decided to have new content in this update start at the same point for both routes (144 days in). Remember Becca getting pawed in the locker room... that was a start toward it. Remember the phone call with the doctor... that was another spot. Remember the controversial scene with Darnell and Mary in the gym... another. As "Seasons 1-4" are reworked, you should expect the ntr route to be expanded from those points and several others.

Darnell was the original netorare (ntr) adversary of the game from the beginning and already had content started down that line -- which, funny enough, wasn't used as the springboard for this update. Roger was only added last year (v0.82.4), giving another level of adversarial obstacles for the MC to overcome. As for your suggestion for Darnell possibly becoming a friend - it has been my thought, and I think the general suspicion of folks, that this would be the case for the third route that was stated would exist in the game - the Sharing/Friendship route.

Also for people saying that so few people are fans of netorare (ntr) -- it's interesting to see that my speed run playthrough of the netorare route has had more downloads than the main route. While that may not be the same for the number of people actually playing the route -- it's a data point that gives pause. I'm not a fan of netorare myself, but hey, I also don't think the world revolves around me.

to me, all this proves is that they want to see it, but not play it. basically they wanted to check for one reason or another, but they themselves have no real interest in playing it.

i didnt watch the speedrun, but i like some of the scenes that are only avaliable in the NTR route, like the cum guzzling from a bottle. very few porn games do cumplay for some reason.

so i downloaded saw the scene and then deleted. at that point its no diferent from porn or a hentai.

however, i have no desire to play that route, even if its filled with it, because i genuinely have no interest in this type of ntr.

This would be a healthy mindset to have. However, there could be some kind of "update" a month or two from now that addresses a few of the many concerns and criticisms about this update. This would be much like how v0.85.1 was a bugfix update one month after v0.82.4 last year.

It will also be interesting to see if Uberpie sticks with his idea of updating both routes simultaneously or decide to alternate. If he decided to alternate, then he could make a goal of 6 months per update (4 months creations, 1 month revision/editing, 1 month playtesting/bug hunting) and each route would get an update annually (until the third route picks up). However, this new "Seasons 1-4" idea with rework of old content wouldn't necessarily jive with alternating.

A year or so isn't out of the question for a "substantive" update, as this took over 8 months and is not. Should an update come earlier than that, people should then be pleasantly surprised. Should it be a year or so? That's debatable. However, based upon this history of Uberpie's development, it's where people should set their expectations.

That was one of my thoughts, as well. However, whether a person plays it or watches the video, they have shown there is interest in such a route - even if it is simply to satisfy curiosity. We have seen how some have complained about the content they saw in the netorare (ntr) route, when if that isn't their cup of tea - they could simply not bother to play or watch. It's like watching political town hall featuring a candidate they hate - some people just can't not stop from observing and, in the end, drive up ratings and apparent popularity of that candidate.

Peter becomes the one true friend that accepts Darnell for who he really is, and they spend the rest of the game listening to Slayer, discussing Charles Dickens, and spitroasting the ladies of Taffy Town.

Officially, no. That was removed in 2018 due to Patreon's insistence on games made by Uberpie and others. You can make the names whatever you want; if you use relationship-specific nouns you may find a few awkward sentences but shouldn't be immersion breaking, in general. There is no coding which will unlock certain dialogues specific to relationship names if you choose to do so.

It's kind of mad that people are defending this update, doesn't matter if you enjoy NTR or not, even without the NTR, just two scenes, and building with Chantelle? While we've got plenty of other characters that need content.

Both routes were terrible, especially the NTR route, we already had the whole Brain-washing device route, with Darnell in gym with Mary.

Did you have problems playing v0.95.7a? I did not have any problems playing it, except that the gallery is bugged for everyone.

For some the same video issue from the previous version of black screens for the animations still occurs in this new version - but it did not occur for me. Some complain about a loop bug in the two rounds of placing the Chantelle posters, that it never stops looping - however I beat the time limit both times and didn't experience a loop (If you realize there is a timer, it is easy beat it - I didn't even realize there was a time until I watched my video play through). The AI art is questionable and disappointing, but that won't be fixed any time soon.

You don't need to wait. I question their play testing, too. But you don't need to wait. Download it and play v0.95.7a. If you have problems, I uploaded all assets (scenes, animations, audio) as well as videos of my speed runs of both routes and placed links in a post in this thread - so you really have no need to wait to play.
