$10 per part. 3 parts, $30.

Last update was 31 Jan 2024, less than 10 months (so far).

They have been working on the steam release since April 2024, about 7 months (so far).

There is a supposedly an almost finished small update (so Uber says) that they were working on before they got booted from Patreon in mid-March 2024.

While I don't agree/disagree with your sentiment... It's always best to make sure you have the right info when sharing that sentiment.
>Last update was 31 Jan 2024
It was what, v.1.07.3c.? Because as I see in update log last update with any new content was v.1.07.3a.

Anyway last update I remember having new content was introducing ntr route. Not my taste, but i think it was nice, especially for ntr-fans. After that there was nothing new as far as i remember.

I dont see them promising to release it soon, they are now concentrated on steam 1,2,3 season version it seems. That kinda makes really new content a question of next american presidency time.

from my FAQ: 31,414
v1.07.3a 29 Jan 2024 (7 months)
v0.95.7a 01 Jul 2023 (8 months, 3 weeks)

v1.07.3 was main route "Season 5" continuation - yes, it had content. If you don't remember, you can watch my speed run here: 29,174

v0.95.7 was the first part of "Season 5" that had both netorare and main route content.

Okay, because you said please (y)

Hi everyone!
Let’s dive into some updates and discuss our current challenges.

Right now, we’re planning to split all the accumulated content (before SubscriberStar) into three seasons.
The last half-finished update (the one we were working on before we were banned) is still on hold. In theory, we could continue the story right where it left off after the ban, just as we originally intended. For now, though, that’s a distant dream, and our focus is on shaping what we already have into a polished product.

As is common in this type of visual novel, we’ve encountered several familiar challenges and have been tackling them throughout development, with final polishing now underway. These include overly linear plot progression, an empty world, logical parallel character branches, coherent development, days with too few quests, and so on.

Of course, if we’d gone with a more cinematic gameplay style, where the player mostly watches a movie with occasional choices, none of these challenges would have come up. But, as usual, we chose a different path, and we hope you’re enjoying it so far.

Now, I’ve got a question for you: in your opinion, what do you think is the most reasonable price for the first season? Keep in mind that Steam takes a 30% cut.

As always,
Thank you all so much for your support, without you, none of this would be possible!
Love,
-The Taffy Tales Team

My note: What yall think should be the set price for the game?

I had forgotten how bad the AI CGs were, how I miss the original art. And there wasn't even faster development in exchange for that. I'd gladly pay extra on steam for a version with the older style, too bad it's not happening.

Haha.

This is something you can only laugh at sry. See you in 3 years until Uber is done playing catch up and argue that the "new" content wasn't really worth it.

I mean the artstyle deteriorated anyway. So everything coming out now.............you know I just lost my thought process.

Wanted to write some but this game is really not worth it. I give up. I have to stop coming and checking this thread out.

why the "jk"? with a 13-37K per month average earning on patreon, which suggests he got paid around 240 thousand dollars for that last update that he took 10 months to do (based on the mean value)...
God I hate that I'm effectively on the side of the Milk Trolls now, but Uber has been milking this one hard, and now he's spent the last 7 months "getting steam ready", aka another 161 thousand US dollars so he can squeeze even more money out of this project,.. Meh!! He's already been paid more than he's worth.

BTW, I used to be a defender of his... look at me now lol, I detest Milk Trolls whining about the way other people chose to spend their money and I tend to support Devs attempts to get a fair days pay out of their projects, but Uber is just taking the piss.
At the point where you find yourself agreeing with them you should stop separating them. Calling them "Milk trolls" but then agreeing with their points, do you think that makes you special? You're enlightened? I'm not trying to antagonise you but you should realise by now that if you see logic in their points you have to concede and accept you're aligned. Sure some people go overboard however there's good reason people are sceptical, like you said...Uber has been paid far more than he's worth. Back when I joined I remember when these games were just being shared on 4chan boards and f95 for free. We'd all group together and enjoy the games. Then some people got the idea to put their games on patreon for those who wanted to donate. That was fine, a bit of help to compensate them for their time and effort. But now we have the situation we're currently in, these devs abuse the patreon system and slowly drip out small updates to get as much money as possible. It's ridiculous.

I'm sorry for steam, but a good keyboard, smashed on dev's face will be just right. Like in that Wanted(or something) movie. And another one shoved right up his arse just to stop the flow of shitty ideas.

Imagine you know nothing about this game and you are browsing Steam looking for games to fap, you found "Taffy Tales" that looks promising and start googling. Very fast you find out that game is blocked behind 3 paywalls (!) which is already extremely off-putting, but most importantly - you get the same game, that you could've got for 10$ just with [REDUX] label on it. Years of blue-balling content will very surely payoff to Uberpie, since there will be NO payworth content whatsoever, except for scenes with mom.

"Do I think I'm special??" of course I'm special :p what a stupid question!!!

Agreeing with a few points doesn't not equal agreeing with their philosophy, like agreeing with Hitlers position on boots does not make you a Nazi.
  • Milk Trolls whine about how other people spend their money,
(I feel people have the right to manage their own finances)
  • Milk Trolls whine about how their free thing is taking too long
(I appreciate my "Free things" and treat them as gifts that may stop at any moment)
  • Milk Trolls whine about how Devs fail to act professionally
(despite the fact most seem to be amateurs learning as they go).
But the most significant characteristic of a Milk Troll IMO, is that they don't bother to check their facts, you'll see them on threads where Devs have been producing consistently from day one and the first time an update is a little delayed they start crying "milking".

The fact Milk Trolls may actually have gotten it right this time doesn't stop them being Milk Trolls, it just means there is some truth to proverb "the stopped clock is right twice a day".

I don't object to people supporting Uber if they feel like it (it's their money to spend as they see fit),
I don't object to Uber being so slow (even though it IS annoying).
I don't object to Uber using AI (I hate the AI BTW, but it's his perogative to use whatever tools he sees fit)

I DO object to Uber's excuse of NEEDING a new revenue stream when he has already been paid exceptionally well to date. (particularly when I suspect he lost his Patreon account due to complaints about deceptive practices)

That's a nice ego you've got, I like you! All right, I'll buy you're different to the ones you call "milk trolls".

Like I said, I'm sure there are a small community of people like that but for the most part you'll find a lot of people who complain about free things that you treat as gifts are doing it out of frustration that people like Uber are very obviously trying to milk as much as they can out of people. Another example is summertime saga of course. I mean seriously? Tech demo 0.99.20.12.314 whatever?

Patreon doesn't give a fuck about milking. Prolly he was reported for incest and that's a no go for Visa and Mastercard, so Patreon fucked him. Anyway, uberpie's SS page recovered what he lost with patreon. Also now Steam money will be another economic boost.
I don't care about AI, I care about milking and this dude is milking the shit out of his game.

I never said anything about milking, I said "deceptive practices" for example NTR supporters were effectively scammed for years waiting for content that was repeatedly promised as "coming in the next update".

Over the years I have paid a bit to Uber. I was never a regular backer on Patreon but, if I liked the update, I would log in, pay one of the lower subscriptions for a month the cancel.

Will there be some new content in the Steam release, of course there will as they are flushing bits out and reanimating others and polishing the flow of the story etc. Will I be buying it an playing it, hell no.

When the plot moves on, my wallet may open. I can't see that before 2026 at the earliest and even then it is mid to late part. I can see a fast progression for the next two seasons, as they were bringing the early art into line with later sections not the other way around, but even then I'm only going to have any real interest in season 4.

Pricewise I would say no more than $15 per episode if he wants any chance of getting something off his existing market and customer base but i imagine it will be higher. The move to Steam will, i imagine come at the cost of losing regular backers and that will be what drives the price.
