You see, the problem is that this game was incest from th beginning. Personally i have no problems in no incest game, if it was meant from the beginning like that than there is no problem. Here we see what? We have "landlady" and "childhood friend" and we all know how crappy is that. This thing ruins logic of the game. Logic of the story. And for me that is the problem, for me there is also problem in that i know it WAS incest game, "Family ties". The problem is that auditory, first people who liked your game and became your patreons is, most likely, because of incest. People who does not like incest not goint to play the game that specifies in incest and not gonna pay for it. "Family ties". So the most loyal auditory was betrayed by you. Those who became patreon just from the beginnig and staying that way till now.
I'm not saying that patreon rules is 100% bad thing, it gave more options, the non-incest game and "fan made" incest patch. All games that positioned themselves as incest game became non incest, with "houselady" and childhood friend, but the still have that "fan made" patch. Its just the risk that game developer should take just to be honest to his auditory.
I'm not a patreon, i had no idea about patreon before this policy change story. I was svs member all the time, even about your game i found out AFTER i registered on this site. But i know how this game should have been, i just dont want to play the game that not as it meant to be.
You could've change the story, you could have made Mom died, MC had no sister and only father that is harsh on him, that way you've add some logic behind the idea that MC is a douchebag. But you've made "landlady" and "childhood friend".
Why? You can not sit on two chairs. If your doing "landlady" and etc. that "fan made" should be miraculously appear.
You can not promise to make NTR and not to make it for a year. Personally i hate that shit. I just dont understand it, but you made a promise to your auditory and someone really anticipating it.
Do you think that this will continues forever, that your auditory would continue to listen to you promises? You can see the examples than it wont last long. Big brother. Summertime "something". Dual family. Than there was other game. All this game promised something and became just moneysucking shit. Patreons are leaving. People stop trusting developers.
I'm still not patreon, gosh i not gonna even play this game until "fan made" patch appears. Do you think i am the only one like that? I dont need VN to fap, i need it for story, i'm not fapping on VN games. I know some members of this site that play VN for romance. For love story. Why do you think that logic ruining would be a plus for your game? Why do you think that everything continues the same? Yes, most of the blaberring about NTR or incest are from people that not gonna become patreons, but i'm a patreon of some other games already, i will become a patreon if this game would be interesting for me.
And i'm not the only one who thinks like that.

It's not that we'd never consider adding animations. It's just we don't want to have them at the expense of actual content or delaying updates.

Hey, I've been observing your game for quite a while now and after this update I've decided to become your patron. Your script is really good, many levels higher than 99% of the games out there. Visuals complement it nicely as well.

However I'd like to warn you that if you engage too much into NTR related content you may lose some of your patrons.
Majority of the people is very sensitive when it comes to this genre and on the other hand vanilla tropes are defnitely most popular among the masses and will net you more support and recognition over period of time. Hence it's not too late to reconsider.

I disagree, some of the most popular AND successful games from patreon/f95 have had NTR themes in them one way or another. Big Brother/Good Girl Gone Bad/The Tyrant/Urban Demons/Superpowered/Dreams of Desire all just off the top of my head that incorperates NTR in the form of netorare/netori or netorase.

NTR is great because its so controversial, people want to know why and it grabs the attention. The people who complain about it are most likely just insecure people who cant separate games from reality and cant read/play a story for what it is...a story.

And about previos conversation with @lostraven . I know i'm not the one who has rights to talk about it. Only patreons does. I know that this game IS recieving updates. I personally saw three already, so developers do care about it.

You understand it wasn't a choice right? Patreon across the board basically used told Devs to abandon Incest and content they deemed inappropriate to or face total termination. That's it, us out of a job, no more game for you.

Yep, but you werent the only one who was told this. All other developers recieved same warning. Even Summertime Saga that had 20k as donation at that time. And oh my fucking gosh, now its 55k. I'm absolutely sure that they were 100% afraid to get "fan made" patch. Cause 20k is 20k. And look what we have here, 55k and today i gave you link to lewdpatcher, whose patch is on top? The difference is how developers reacted to patreon demands. Thats what i was talking about.
Also, we can talk about extermination all we want, but after what happened to tumblr after porn was banned, i think patreon not gonna do anything about those "fan made" patches. You know that tumblr auditory reduced almost twice, on 200 millions of people? And as there was not accidents of banning games with fan made patches, most likely there will be none.
Also rape scenes are banned from patreon as well, but your game has a lot of forced scenes dont it? Blackmail? I might be wrong as i not opened it even once, but there some pictures of girls crying during act. So, you'd get banned anyway.
Also step siblings is also against patreon rules, but most of developers after incest was banned started using that kind of "plot" with fan made delition of "step".
But as i said earlier, more popular games, with much more income have those "fan made" patches, its just the risk the developer of incest game should take. And yes, i have no rights to say it.

The opening scenes as stated is being redrafted...but *cough* the dialogue is designed to work for Mary that if you enter her name or *cough* something else. It will still work.

Well, all i could say that its... Not what i expecting. Most RenPy games dialogs are that way, for easier fan made patch to work. Its just it does matters to me, how this "make as it meant to be" would be done. If its me who change name to "Mom", it would feel completely not the same as other way. It would feel not right for me. Dont bother, its just my thing, its also why i never played the game yet.

If you were a Patreon... (or scrolled back a few pages)

You would have known that the Patrons were given a Poll on which characters they wanted to feature for the next updates.
Those characters scripts are now being processed and written for the next 3 mega updates.

(In what order the characters get their update is not being revealed at this time).

In fact, we're giving the Patrons exactly what they've ordered.

Had they chosen Darnell, they would have got the development of the NTR route much sooner.

Ok, that my bad. Sorry. Well, i can promise that i'll become a patreon if i'll like this game. Dont have problems with that.

Out of the 6 games that you've mentioned, 2 of them were cancelled, the third isnt successful at all and in my humble opinion poorly made(The Tyrant) and 4th has rather insignificant amount of NTR in it(Dreams of Desire) I can agree with Good Girl Gone Bad and Superpowered but these games are rather special in their own regard. It's difficult to bring titles that sank by introducing NTR but what we focus on here are trends and general opinion. My intention wasn't to discuss whether ntr is good or bad, but rather to point out an impact it'd have on the game. Trends like I've mentioned can be easily verified by checking out various ntr doujins and seeing a litanies of curses.

I agree that NTR can be very interesting and engaging. I cannot speak about people who dislike it, however I can tell from my observations that there is a greater number of people who dislike than those who like it. Hence came my feedback about it.

If you go vanilla you don't risk discouraging anyone from playing your game, but if you put some ntr in there, then some people may get upset and start writing things like "kill all cucks". My 2 cents haha.

I do want to add I wasn't on the early months of the games development. I was bought on at 0.8 and have been working to correct some of the early content.

Some don't realize and think I was on-board from day one.

Yeah, I mean Gerda, Priscilla and Harry. But there will also be Mary, Becca, Sara, Ryoko, Stacy and the others.

I know that you want to see the scenes with Mary and Tiffany as soon as possible, but their routes develop with the other characters.

Me and lostraven are working hard to push storylines of Mary and Tiffany as soon as possible. So if the next updates will mostly concentrate on the another characters, it is part of our plan. Please, don't worry it's only a matter of time.

I'll share the new teasers, arts and news regularly.

Ah, looks like there was some confusion between me and Uber there. Other than a brief tie in with Darnell I really didn't have anything planned for her this update. Though her update will tie in down the road with her being partnered with Darnell on the project...when I eventually get around to writing her content.

During the earlier months me and Uber were still learning how to 'jell' our work together etc. We're way more in sync now thankfully.
