Pretty much word for word from what he said after dropping thirstchasm guarentee he'll be making a new game within the next year it wont last long.
Why? As far as I know, 0.1.7 is less broken and has almost the same content as 0.1.9. I'd say "wait for the full release", but who am I kidding?
i mean, I don't mind getting the update, but "need"?

i've seen everyone struggling with gallery saves and i've managed to come up with my own fix by manually replacing the hex strings. for some reason, if you try to replace any MDAwMDAwMDAwMDAw strings above offset 00000090, it causes the game to crash. i manually replaced all the strings below it using MDAwMEYwM0YwMDAw.
also, the scenes are all unlocked by line 00000800, so you can stop replacing there.
hope this helps in some way! worked for me anyways
strings you need to replace: MDAwMDAwMDAwMDAw

Either i'm doing it incorrectly, i've missed something, or this fix just doesn't want to work for me.
After replacing all indicated lines between 0090 and 0800 it still throws up the same error when launching the game.
No cap, used to be part of this dude's discord and was enjoying myself there as he made the original "Thirstchasm". When he abandoned that to work on the classic version of Tailbound, He citied that (If I recall correctly, Cause this was ages ago) the Patreon wasn't making enough money as he thought it would, and thus decided it wasn't worth the time investment. People there were upset, but gave him the benefit of the doubt because he seemed bummed from "having to abandon it".
So then in comes the original version of Tailbound (Which is now called "Tailbound: Classic"), which was going well and seemed like a really interesting adventure-ish game where avoidance was the key. A lot of people showed interest, But there was some worry that they would be wasting money if he decided to abandon it again.
Which he did. And blamed it on "Not enough interest on the Patreon". Again.
And then people were really upset, especially since most of the discord was excited for the game. And soon after, a lot of the users started to criticize him on the fact he kept abandoning stuff just because it didn't make what he initially expected, which was why people were hesitant to support him on Patreon because it made them feel like the creator couldn't keep a promise.
And do you wanna know what happened to those people? If you guessed that he took it to heart and strived to be better, Sorry sonny Jim. Instead everyone who said it was, as far as I know, kicked and banned. Sadly I can't go into more because I was one of the people kicked and banned, and I believe he shut the server down some time after.

Well when I pledged to his patreon, witch his itch.io page said was to support the game and have a Behind the scenes look, I realized he was working in a SFW pirate game.
I DM him and say that you misguided me, and that seeing tailbound being abandoned broke my heart because I was really invested and wanted to see the story.
He told em to shut the fuck up and called me a retard that only thinks of porn, the guy is a real piece of work, but his games are good. So I just try ignoring him and focusing on the game.
In this case is best to hate the artist but not the art lol
"Just thinking of porn." As if Moonwhatever was just a sfw version of Tailbounds Classic. They aren't even the same genre.
And even if you're just there for the porn, he still falsely advertised his patreon. That's like paying for a Billie Eilish concert, getting John the puppeteer's fairytale theatre and then being denied a refund for being an "uncultured simp."
He deserves every pirated copy he loses money on.
At least i try being friendly and helpful with my game fanbase... maybe he is useful as an example on how not to treat people and projects
