Hmm, there's no progress update since November of last year, and as far as we know, there's been no development on the game since January according to Zet himself. We also know that he's still around and checking the forums, but it appears that he's ignoring this and certain other threads.

I'm going to assume that he's in a good place in his personal life, and stuck with the job he found a while back and that his relationship with his childhood sweetheart has only continued to blossom. I'm happy for the guy, no lie. But, I suppose this just means that the game is effectively dead.

The game had an interesting premise and it was fun when we were all talking about its potential last year so thanks for that. Wish Zet and everyone here the best. I'm going to unwatch and bow-out of this thread for now, but if there's any actual news, then someone please give me a heads-up on it. If (or when) that ever happens, until then y'all take care. Dev went MIA like last November. Lots of us guessing life took over. Lots of people are guessing development is dropped, but some of are hoping for the return of the dev one day.

It is. Development ceased a long time ago, and Zet, the dev, who was once pretty active hasn't even been around the forums for nearly three years at the time of this post. Some of us do keep his other thread alive (the netorase-list thread), but nowadays there are simply better alternatives. However, in the case of Tainted Aquamarine it's safe to move on from this and explore other threads out there. Good luck and cheers!

Sorry to necro this thread, but I feel like people who have been looking forward to this game deserve some answers as to what happened to it.

And as someone who has been MIA for ages I'm genuinely sorry.


A good tldr is that my laptop died and along with it most of the files for that game which made me discouraged to touch it ever again. But fast forward to today it I've basically managed to expand more on the original game's ideas and implement most of it in the new game that I'm actually really close to releasing.

You can check it out here. You can think of it as Tainted Aquamarine's spiritual successor I guess.
