It's not like they're random, you know. Those that don't depend on combat losses are avoidable by having basic levels at four stats or by choosing options carefully. Those that happen after losing combat are mostly not happening after the first loss, but only after the third. And you can just win combats if you don't want to get Game Overs anyway. I spent some time and learned basic build and money earning opportunities, now I can beat the final boss in about 20-25 minutes after the start of the fresh game. And it's probably casual walkthrough.

Again, the game needs challenge to motivate you learn its mechanics and have fun with it as the game. If you wanted to spend 30 minutes to finish it and see some main storyline, you shouldn't try games, play visual novels. Or read the text inside the game without playing it, look at the pictures unlocked in the Gallery in cheat mode.
I disagree, I think you are looking at it from the perspective of a game whilst I am looking at it from the perspective of a porn game.

If I was in the mindset of playing SKYRIM or FALLOUT and I came to a decision making quest moment that affects the rest of my playthrough then yeah I am gonna analyze and weigh my options and think. I am playing a game with big booty futa's and sluts, when I see a sexy looking character, my mindset isnt "will this kill me, how will this affect my game", my mindset is "I wonder what scenes this person has, hmm this looks fappable".

My definition of fun isnt dying and getting game overs by trying to fap to a porn game.

As I said, the text is complied inside the encounters.json file, while arts are available with cheat mode. You don't want to look at it from the perspective of a game — look at it as an illustrated book and be happy. It will be an extravagant experience, but you still can figure out what's going on.

Its not as black and white as you are trying to make it out to be. You can make RPG-like porn games without needing/putting in "sex scene game overs", like 90% of porn games here already do that. But anyways its the devs decision at the end of the day, good art, bad gameplay design.

new update broke most of all characters in the pervert menu
some won't show their "normal" cg and clicking doppelganger crashes the game

Here's a save with every single CG unlocked (was a pain), every achievement and every outfit for the latest version of the game (3.11.3). Just change the extension from .txt to .json and place it in the .toa-data folder
I cant seem to find the .toa-data folder. Please help

Weirdly enough Dark Knight in this interaction in story mode is pretty respectful, asking before doing stuff and all that.

After playing Adventure Mode for a long time, I decided to try Story Mode. Well, what can I say? In no way do I want to offend the authors, but the fact that they turned off the enemies' respawn on already completed locations is just idiocy. This is a porn game with a very overcomplicated and VERY incomprehensible combat system. In adventure mode, this could be bypassed by grinding, but in story mode, this cannot be done and a fun porn game turns into an idiotic Dark Souls' clone where you need to know everything in advance and plan your build in advance. The main problem here is that, there is no clear explanation of how the combat system works ANYWHERE. And the description of spells is generally confusing. Here is an example:Invisibility spell does not work against enemies with "true sight" - but what are these enemies? Where can I see in their description about "true sight"? As a result, I wasted precious perk points, my build does not work (although, based on the spell description, it should work) and should I start all over again? Sorry, but this is idiocy. I hope the authors don't get offended by an honest review of their story mode.

Dark Souls must have added some weird stuff in patches without me noticing if ToA is a Dark Souls clone.

I see you played Karryn's Prison on your signature , that may be the issue, that game has a polished combat system that uses sex scene combat as well but they visualized as much as possible creatively and made everything connected to the game and easy to re visit. So the combat turns out to be a fun sex system thats really replayable, Androgyny instead abandoned the combat as a sex system and fun dynamic and focused on honestly just adding more scenes as often as possible. Over time I think New Scenarios and Story content became a powerful income source , and completing the main gameplay loop like combat visuals and cohesion was thrown aside, there's so many little minor positions like handlebars, deepthroats, spanking etc that have no visuals or flash cards like Karryn, also this game has so many options that it must of gotten hard to manage , even overwhelming, so making scenes although also hard, is likely more attractive a choice because it allows idea expression from the artists, as a developer its probably easier to see the world and scenes desired to make rather than play the main loop raw like a new player and understand what its like for someone just getting into it all. Even the veteran players edit files to get by half the time and just accept the new scene releases. This isn't the same kind of game direction as something like Karryn , If that game had futa/femboy content it would be a strong competitor.

I adore the the Androgyny world but I do realize its all about new scenes releases now..think of it more like other visual novel games with a strong focus on Futa/Fem content and beautiful art and music..and amazing writing... the combat..well....we just don't talk about the combat lol. Those new scenes are crazy hot tho, just look at those =P.

I perfectly understand your sarcasm, gentleman of high culture. But I think you got the point of my post perfectly, if all you could complain about is just comparing DS and ToA.

Not quite so. In Karryn's Prison, the whole gameplay is not so polished. But on the other hand, it is simple and clear, which is the main criterion for casual games (and all porn games MUST be casual in terms of gameplay). As I already pointed out in my post, the authors of the game just needed to leave the mechanics of enemy respawn - and everything would be fine.

Why not just have some niché where it doesn't have to be that way?
I understand that it might turn off people from the game, but there are people that would want to have a porn game that's hard, complicated or both?

Of course, tastes differ, but most people play porn games for the sake of having a good time (if you know what I mean :) ). For such games, complex combat or role-playing systems only spoil everything.
