One is getting weekly updates and the other is stuck in the quagmire of results not meeting expectations while biting off more than they can chew, but both are actively being worked on.
Play both tbh. They both have their own unique scenes for every encounter.
I'd probably consider playing story mode first and seeing the scenes there, then going to adventure mode. Every single encounter will have entirely different sex scenes. Also you can only access your own mode's fights via the cheat mode menu.

it it possible to obtain the treasure chest at the end of the tournament in 2nd town(non-story mode)? I beat all 9 (3 enemies x 3 round/difficult) and then after the battle result screen, it just kick me to town screen instead of choosing where to go in the tournament area selection. Reentering force me to pay the initial entrance fee again & repeat the fight.
Why even mentioning the other game here at all? It's not even relevant. You're just shooting that game down unprompted. If you want to bitch about it, then do it in that game's thread, there's plenty in there.
If it comes to me, I'd make sure every comment here is about Hiro's donut getting the loving it deserves.

Im pretty sure its bugged if you can't open it, because when I tried this about a year ago there was no problem and that chest held your reward for winning the Arena

Heyo! New weekly!
This time around we've got the Kitsune Anal animation, a new animated background, along with the next round of new sound effects, this time for the Mermaid.
We had to do another full animation export, annoyingly, because the physics beta for it is still in flux - hopefully that will be the last one. Should be back up to full capacity now so we can add the new companion stuff and catch up on story mode stuff and feature work. The second Story Mode Catgirl encounter is just about ready, but we ran out of time for it, so next week it is. Sorry for the slow March so far - it's been one thing after another, but we should be picking up the pace now (though the first week of April we'll also be busy, unfortunately).

how do you get the stealing scene for the ettin? is it the rugular enounter or the sleeping ettin encounter?
Beat her in combat, then talk to them afterwards and convince them to go on a date with you. At one point the ettin will give you 50g to go buy a pig, but you should select to steal the money and leave. Then just sleep in camp a few times
Genuinely how do I open the game? The Java version doesn't have an exe or a jar file so how?
