Putting my personal feelings about developers who do practically nothing for multiple years and whether or not this will ever be finished aside, I'd say most people keep coming back because there are very few, if any, other games that have such varied teratophilia-centric games out there. It makes it stand out in your memory
Exactly. This game is part of a really unique genre and one of the best of it's kind. But even if it wasn't it would be stuck on the memory of anyone who liked it, what other options are there to fill the gap? How many decent teratophilia games were created in this 7 years? And it's not like the dev died or went missing for good so ofc people who frequent this site will sometimes visit this thread again

Exactly. Hell, I think he even commented on this thread in the past year saying he plans on finishing it. Whether he actually will is another matter entirely, but it confirms he's still around.

This is correct, there are plenty of games on this very website. That have decent writing and art to choose from, if that was all. But we who seek the path of the monster girl, and I mean true monster girl. Not folks doing cosplay and/or some palatte changes. Have very little to stroke the goat to compared. So we hold close what we have. And hope the wait eventually pans out.

Not even true monshter girl, just the furries with actual bestial traits (anatomical, don't confuse with "bestiality" pls) like true digitigrade skeleton and muscle, or fantasy races that are not, like you said, just doing cosplay with rubber ears and color swaps. Weirdly lanky muscle-y elves and actually reptilian lizards from Divinity: OS2 are unpopular even though the game itself is a beloved darling. Something like charr from Guild Wars, or original creatures like sergals, they're not that popular in their full "canonical" form. And that's pretty mild stuff compared to something like our water eel-snake waifu Naigad or a hivemind colony of stupid sexy worms...

There's an impossibly strong bias towards big tiddy cosplay girls. Adding tits is mandatory to make money in porn, everything has to be up to "better than a real girl" standards. Even furries really just want a normal girl with extra parts :sneaky:
So yeah, projects like Teraurge are a breath of creativity. Even if you don't wank to it you can appreciate it's sheer weird. It's unique.

You should try to understand the author too. When you start working on something, you feel inspired, you want to share your project with others, and you release a demo that everyone likes. But then, more important things and problems in life come up, and each day you sink deeper into them. You no longer have enough time for your little hobby, and those who liked your game start circling around like sharks, demanding more. It’s depressing, and you work on your project less and less. You don’t want to abandon it, but you also don’t want to rush something half-heartedly. Six years have passed, but we don’t know what was happening in the author’s life during that time. Just as we don’t know whether he might have been working on his game little by little, and the next version is almost ready for release. According to him, he hasn’t abandoned his game, and I’m inclined to believe him. Yeah, it sucks that it hasn’t progressed in all this time, but it’s still better than if he had truly given up on it.

I completely understand that life sometimes throws unexpected shit at you that you may need to prioritize or IRL stuff like work gets in the way of hobbies, I do. My primary issue, and I feel this way about many other devs, is profiting off of something that is both in an incomplete state and has gone several years without any substantial updates, like Summertime Saga has been doing forever now.

Well, in the case of this unfinished project, I can’t say author is deliberately profiting from it. As far as I know, he occasionally stream content related to his game’s universe. Besides, no one’s forcing anyone to donate; it’s purely voluntary.

What's Unique about Teraurge is it's not "Monster Girl" / Furry / Anthropomorphic Creatures.
It's True Teratophilia (something really alien to known species) with Very Good Quality Designs that makes them sexually attractive.

That's why this thread is till active when the game itself is dead for 6 years: We don't really have any Teratophilia / Alien game on par of the quality and designs.
Not Monster girls / Furries / Anthropomorphic Creature.
Also the reason why we don't really get any this type of game: It's not something an average Joe can create.

All very popular with my dick, I can assure you.

And frankly? Not exactly as unpopular as you're implying otherwise, either. Like, you'll get artists who are really dedicated to those sorts of things – more bestial, dangerous-looking furry/scaly species. Like, Snowskau comes to mind for the charr, e.g. stuff like
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

In Teraurge, though, that sort of thing isn't even a good way to describe the cast, when you get down to it. Even more normal (read: likely to have a wider appeal) designs like Shyni/Tornoth's species have beautifully weird stuff like their rigid, almost whale-looking mouth things going on. The character with the most normal design in the game – Sulie (just an average snake with a torso slapped on) – is explicitly going to get replaced with something more alien if and when the next version comes out, last I heard.

You're right on the money about stuff like Breirb, though. Despite how little content they have, I can't remember a time before or since where a game's sexual encounter has so rapidly and completely captured my attention and imagination. It boggles the mind that I think I've seen more examples in media of worms entering a dick (e.g. those scenes in Corruption of Champions, and such) than of just non-oral sex with worms… But this goes so much further beyond even that. Hive mind creature has to awkwardly jack me off because it's not adapted for mating with outsiders? Cool concept. Main body big worm in the hive wants to invite me under the surface and let me have a go at her pussy instead? Awesome, and already starting to get pretty wild. But the big worm is starting to like me enough that she's developing a deeper individual identity complete with a name despite an inability to communicate without the help of the wider hive and it's starting to cause practical and cultural friction? That's fucking incredible!

Where else can you get stuff like that? Nowhere I know of. Absolutely tragic.

As you and others have said, it really sucks how there has been NOTHING in between to fill in the gap these past few years. The closest ones are scaly/fury that still have than uncanny snout and human like eyes. Not really something I'm into but I make do. The closest I can think of is perhaps Torotoro's Encyclopedia of Tentacles for Boys, but it's not a game, more like a set of stories and scenarios. And shota, which is not everyone's cup of tea. And the writing is not that good.

I just played through all the content in this version of the game and came to see if there was anything about upcoming updates. And i came across images of new creatures—like, some of them are ENORMOUS. How is the MC even supposed to have sex with these things?
