I think the New Romantic scene spread well beyond the UK. For those who've never heard of it and will think the following images weird here's a very quick overview. Originating in the late 1970's it took inspiration from David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Roxy Music. The New Romantics developed fashions inspired by the glam rock era coupled with the early Romantic period of the late 18th and early 19th century. Among the most famous music acts identified with the New Romantic movement (whether they liked it or not) were Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Steve Strange of Visage, Boy George of Culture Club and Adam and the Ants.

It's been tricky to get anything close to resembling Duran Duran's Wild Boys video look. Not harder than I expected because I never expected it to be easy. Unsurprisingly the AI didn't understand prompts like "Strapped upside down to the sail of a windmill with her hair in the water". And I think a lot of these look more like 1980's metal than New Romantic. But, this is what I've come up with.
