I guess there's a fine line between emansipation and corruption.

I mean I do see how a story of emansipation could have almost identical form to corruption. like some outside well-meaning educator enabling the liberation. I guess that's what the people falling for cults think they're getting into, only to eventually find out they've become fucktoys for the cult leader.

Progression is also pretty good in the sense that it takes place over a long period of time and that it is combined with a variety of other activities to keep you busy. My controversial opinion is, while I quite like corruption, I hate the personality change/degredation and mind control stuff. In my mind when I think of corruption it's about a deeply reppressed person becoming their true self, leaving behind the rules of society and what not to become who you truly are and do what you want to do, with the corruption being a good thing that improves their life, which can be tricky since it seems like so much corruption stuff is just "manly man does mind control for sex" or "ego death to make a person just worse" both of which I find really gross

9/10ths of mind control content handle it poorly and just use it as dub con with extra steps. Of course most hypnosis content is done poorly anyways. If it's not a slow-burn plot it's just not that enjoyable.

When it comes to corruption for me it's about possession or "ownership", jealously corrupting a girl towards your tastes, the ol' "making her pussy remember the shape of your cock" thing.

I do like abuse of power and opportunism, for example a businessman takes over her father's factory "helping" to finance it with "very favourable terms", then behind her father's back in an act of ultimate betrayal she's an unspoken part of that bargain, the businessman may even be close friends with the father and go golfing together for additional bonus points.

I like underhanded options masked with a veneer of honourable intention, blackmail where you "just want to help".

No drugs or drunkenness, she must be fully conscious of everything that's happening to her and fight it, no mind break at all, she's got to feel it all down to her very soul. If she happens to become yours after it all then that's fair but having a broken doll is no fun for anyone, it's extremely dissatisfying! The knowledge that she's been broken makes all my feelings null-and-void if I'm honest and my interest evaporates.

In my personal ideal form of corruption is when the corruption comes completely natural to a person. Not when some stud barges in and takes the girl away from her partner. Or when a lust crest is forcing her to suck cock for a living. Or lord forbid a 1,000,000G debt is slapped on her face. No, the girl's temptations, curiosity, and slipping morals themselves are the corrupting force that's driving them forward to whatever debauchery is compelling them.

Now, obviously no corruption can come 100 percent naturally. There always has to be an external force that pushes them in a direction that they would never think to go in the first place. There must be a trigger that leads to the fall, but once the trigger has been set, that's it from external forces. Corruption, one of the best tags, right? There's so many good games, comics, animations. But, everyone has different tastes when it comes to the execution and sometimes doing it haphazardly can ruin the whole thing.
So with that in mind I ask you, what's the best corruption progression for you? I'm not just talking about the physical aspects, but the whole journey through reluctant participant to willing cumdumpster. What do you guys think makes the whole thing tick? What are the things that turn you away from it or ruin it for you?
And of course, what's the best example you can think of?
The more details, the merrier!

I feel like there's no one size fits all that wont get boring. The best is when they have their own unique taboos and circumstances, that's where the best corruption comes out, that struggle with their personal values is what really make the lines feel crossed. Even if it follows the standard progression template, having their personal thoughts on it and incentives/process to cross that line is what really sets apart badly written and well written corruption. If the justifications are weakly written, then at least have a creative progression (I recall reading a H manga where her body was trained to orgasm when creampied, and that kinda snowballed her corruption in later chapters I think the title was something on the lines of "Kareshi wo naisho de")

I made a long post about writing corruption into stories and one thing I talked about is that authors just don't break it down enough, if they break it down into many smaller steps/milestones the process would be much more enjoyable to read compared to the random leaps like reluctant participant > pleasure addict(reluctant) > willing cumdump. I understand that sometimes the quantity is limited by project budget, but some devs just waste that effort into adding a new girl to quickly corrupt when they could have went into detail with one girl. The new trend of ai slop does actually bypass the artist budget issue somewhat, and anyone writing for those has to work extra hard for their writing, so I would hope some of them see the light and pace the progress into multiple small steps.

I feel like the NTR tag has been abused for corruption more than the girls in NTR. Instead of writing a character they just slap a ring on them and now ALL their sexual actions with the NTR guy are taboo. Don't get me wrong, there are good ones that utilize NTR proper, but many of them are just boilerplate instant sluts with that happen to be married to a beta just to add that cheating spice.

One thing I've been personally seeking is a girl self corrupting through posting online content. Something on the lines of starting with innocent posts, then slowly falling to the attention/money greed and falling further and further. They can either meet with someone who becomes their "manager" that corrupts them further at some point too.

so far the closest I've found to the above is this new AI art phone NTR game called NekoNtr, not perfect(on top of shameless borderline plagarism of nekopara for the character and certain parts of the setting) but it did certain things decently, although the initial writing and justifications to get her in the spending trap were weak. The later part where she is stuck in a chain of earning more through "OnlyFyans", then spending more with her rich friends (also OnlyFyans creators) that goad her into going deeper into earning more, then it adds another later of having private requests from clients also corrupting her. Add that on top of her corrupting herself through size difference comparisons with her BF and toys, and the BF himself getting delusions and fantasies and self corrupting into a cuck. I personally felt like she occasionally takes too big/many steps at a time, but this is one of the rarer examples of multi layered corruption.

Finally I feel like sometimes the unrealistic pure fictional kinks and corruption have so much potential together. The main issue with "realistic" corruption is that once you hit the limit (eg. creampie/impreg) there's not much space to push further outside of bdsm stuff. However if you take into account those unrealistic fictional kinks like (eg.cervix pen, breast expansion, cumflation, and even the whole ass John K Peta ass anatomy nonsense), you suddenly have a lot more "endgame" to push into. I think Tsuki no Jyogi is one of the few that does the corruption into cervix pen every now and then. A lot of times when it comes to these fictional kinks the characters are just into it when it happens no questions asked(or the instant 2-3 step corruption), and sometimes they don't even acknowledge how abnormal things are. It's interesting when they have written about how they fall into the extremes, especially when they acknowledge it (again with the cervix pen theme I recall there was one manga where the NTR oldman had some mini beads he wore to stimulate the girl's cervix, and as the corruption progressed the beads got wider). Yeah I get it that some people get turned off when the kinks go unrealistic, but I honestly think that's what regular porn is for, why complain about fiction in fiction? might as well complain about magic in fantasy.

To be honest I do complain about magic in fantasy, I'm more of a town guard/barbarian type, and I hate wizards.

It's like with the movie Akira, I was happy with the motorcycle gang fights, I'm happy with Marlon Brando's 'The Wild One' or James Dean's 'Rebel Without a Cause'. When it descended into the whole superhuman magic stuff to be honest I lost all feeling and interest, I was just along for the ride.

I like horror movies where I can put myself in a position to empathise with a character because it's on a physical level, mano-a-mano, when it comes to the spiritual realm where you have no chance to fight back I don't care anymore. The feeling of not being in a fair fight is why I hate Superheroes so much, it's a foregone conclusion that they'll win, that's why people loved Game of Thrones so much, nothing was 100% certain.

My rootedness in slow burn realism is what also attracts me to a certain kind of corruption, I remember watching hentai about an uncle who brought his daughter's best friend out to a dogging area in his car, he laid her back and started finger fucking her with other guys watching before gently placing himself between her spread thighs, the whole interaction was hot, yes she slapped him after he creampied her but it was noticeable that she really felt it, that quiet drive home, I love that, such a little thing that says so much.

I have a particular dislike for the full BDSM angle with tools, intricate rope play, hot candle wax and all sorts of other shit, I hate it all as it feels (is) fake and consensual, like Victoria's Secret lingerie or 30-40 year olds roleplaying as schoolgirls, the biggest fantasy crushing turnoff.
