I see what you mean, once you get a few people running to swap in and out plus guest rooms, money goes from being a tree chopping chore to a total non-issue. However, since the game has a literalYou need ways to drain the coffers in the mid and late game anyway.
Plus whatever else dev wants to have the alchemist sell, like temporary stat potions (which might also be a thing, getting enough xp to fulfill certain attribute requirements is such a pain in the ass). Or have fun with it, who knows, maybe there'll be furry potions or something!
Speaking of money sinks and the alchemist, aren't you supposed to pay her back at some point? Or did Alma completely cover your tab in the beginning out of her empty pockets? The game's explanation for how the alchemist got paid off was somewhat unclear, although maybe that part is also unfinished...
Edit: Forgot to add, but more possible money sinks might be bribing the town guards to look the other way and/or maintain brothel license, or also just hiring bouncers. A bouncer mechanism is relatively prevalent in a lot of brothel games, both to reduce patron mess % generation AND also maybe reduce a barfight mechanism; patrons be fightin' over access to the ladies! Mostly would depend on how punitive barfight mechanism is, hard mode in some games might even have bar fights possibly causing brothel to temporarily shut down for some period of time due to town guards arriving (assuming a bribe isn't paid). Conversely, once the ladies are depraved enough, bouncer costs may go down due to availability of freebies or skills, etc. (depends on how bouncer code is implemented).
