After one of the senior members of a friendly Yakuza clan – that the Deluca family has been on good terms with for years – witnessed Luna in action during a rare, joined operation, he offered to take her with him to Japan. There she would be allowed to train with some of their clan’s most experienced kenjutsu masters. It would be an intensive three-month training focused on making her proficient with a katana and teaching her the honorable art of the sword.
Cordia wasn’t very enthusiastic about the idea of her eldest daughter going off to Japan, all by herself. However, using all his powers of persuasion and charm, Wilfred finally managed to convince her that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for Luna, and that experiencing another culture might broaden her horizons a little bit as well.
The dojo where Luna was undergoing her training, was in a secret location and had no internet access, so they didn’t hear from her for several weeks. Then a handwritten letter from her suddenly arrived in the mail. In the letter she told them that she was doing well and was having the time of her life, and that her training was also going very well.
There was also a photograph included with the letter, which quickly made clear that katana skills wouldn’t be the only thing she would be returning with from Japan…
