The new feat system is neat. A little tiny bit of luck in the training as it is now for these feats. Is genuinely condusive to more creativity. Should one focus on a single build. The game entices the player to try new things along the way. I wanted to make a glass cannon assassin crit build. Then I got a lot of scrolls, tomes, and feats for more defensive stuff. Being neigh immortal with the enemy being poisoned in retaliation until the last floors. Huge AoE hits to clear mobs instead of fast and many focused hits. I've come to love the build, but wouldn't have tried it. Should the game not have notched me in that direction.

ayumu98 Will there be a steam release? I've sort of found a work around with me not accepting the digital ID. I can just buy steam cards.

roguelike sounds very tedious. you grind grind grind. and then all your grind resets and you have to start over again?

how is this in practice?
This game isn't a true roguelike bc it doesn't have permadeath (it's more like pokemon mystery dungeon). I call it a roguelike bc it has some roguelike elements, e.g. grid-based, turn-based, rng-generated levels.

I'll put the game on steam one day, but it's going to take some time. IMO the game is <50% done w/ regard to plot/events.

this game so fun and great would can up in steam i must buy after will have chinese sub?
I'll think about translations when the game is done.

oh, dying and respawning is not roguelike at all. that is more like an mmorpg... just without the massive multiplayer online part.
roguelikes are characterized with one death causing you to have to restart the entire run from the very beginning. losing hours of progress when it happens

Found an error where the feat training with Viola. Doesn't net her any feats. Instead it goes to you (again). Don't know why I didn't notice it before.

This is "just" a dungeon crawler, but there haven't been many dungeon crawlers released in the past decade that aren't also roguelikes / roguelites.

What makes something a roguelike is that the power growth is entirely from the player learning the meta - each instance is expected to be a throw-away for the player to figure out what to do in a given situation.

What makes something a roguelite is when power growth is explicitly gated by the game, in response to achieving something (XP, depth, events)

This game really doesn't have much of either, because there's abundant margin to learn the meta without dying in the process.

Indeed, it is a Dungeon Crawler + Dating Sim. I'll comment some things about my playthrough, as i see the developer in here.

First of all, amazing CG, it's evident that it's done with love.

I didn't remember the name of the girls before talking with them for the first time (Aside from Paila and Viola), it would be nice if in the built-in guide provided in options menu you could see a page for each girl with their name and photo, so you can remember which one you are trying to date.

I played rifle, i built all my feats corresponding to that (I literally kept the first weapon that i got, then lv enchanted with every scroll that i got) i didn't test other weapons, but i wouldn't have problem if the pick up / interact button is the same as recharging, as anyways I'm waiting in place for a turn.

I liked the tomes that can give you ways to creative plays, the only thing that didn't like, was that the hotkeys bar maybe needs a number indication for each slot not needing to get into menu and see which slot has the tome that you want to use.

When the plot is more advanced, i want to try some things like this:

And other weird type of builds

The game it's fun to play, you have the most important thing, be careful and don't stop yourself too much in details, the most important is to complete the plot, and try to not get in developing hell by adding too many not that much important of things.

I also really enjoy the game, I started over once more and I'am doing things differently too,

It seems like ayumu is going in the right direction so keep it up dev !

I appreciate the report! I fixed it in 0.12.20 (available on itch.io).

I plan to do this eventually.

You should be able to reload by pressing rest (space/kp5).
the most important is to complete the plot
In your opinion, what are the biggest gaps in the plot?

just to save you the headache the better word for what you are describing is roguelight. The word has fallen out of more common use but using it will save you a lot of comments about the it not being a pure roguelike.

In your opinion, what are the biggest gaps in the plot?
Short:

As it is now, just need to get more fulfilled so the progression in relationships doesn't seems that abrupt and that's it

Long:
I thought that you would likely approach a mystery dungeon like game, as you have already different maps. volcano, beach, cave, i was thinking that you wanted to make as well different dungeons in which you get any upgrade for your character, advance relationship with any girl, etc. As well as part of the plot that you want to show us (BUT)

Really depends on you, keeping on with what you planned to be your 1.0 or modifying it a little bit without making the developing time too big as you may have already planned the objectives for each versions until your goal. Don't really know if you want to make a smaller game with a very condensed plot, a medium one, including many systems that can make the gameloop more addicting. Or a full game with every mechanic that you can imagine, but that i think it's too much for a partial time starting developers game

As we are right now at 0.12.22 you keep adding a ton of changes into the game, so i don't know which reach you want to get to. IMO

For starting developers, people always recommend to make different games to grown your own skills (Has its exceptions aka stardew valley). But as general rule it's really nice to keep it as short and with a plot that you like (In reality this is what it really counts, what you really want to do, your purpose)

Don't really know how the things are going with the censorship from mastercard visa and paypal, so i don't know if it's worth to make a long long game if you are not going to get what you deserve in return for external factors
