I can understand people being mad about the progress being slow, though saying like REALLY awful stuff in the comments is taking it a bit far. If you´re developing a game as a side project, of course its going to take more time than working on it fulltime. And if you have full-time job and occasionally some bs to take care of, sometimes you dont want to spend the rest of your tiny bit of energy you have left on that day to further develop your game. Though personally I think I would be a bit more motivated to work on it if I see that people are genuinely interested and are ready support me.
I dont know what the devs do in their personal life or if they even have a job or something but they seem to see these games as:
A) a mere side project that gets worked on occasionally in their free time
B) a cashcow and just stretch things out to get more money from supporters
C) a game they want to be so extremely perfect and extensive, that they spend insane amount of hours on features and adding MORE stuff and forget the basics/fundamentals
D) Procrastination.
For me its hard to tell but personally I think its a mix between of all 4 options. Probably A and C more than B but eh, I guess to each their own how they interprete it.
And yes 2,5 years and onwards for a game update is really a stretch. I mean, unless LL 2.0 and Dog Princess Update are actually insane if they release in god knows when (hopefully 2025). I remain hopeful for the time being
