Hello everyone,

I’m excited to share with you the start of development for WorldRise, a video game project I’m passionately working on.

Set in a future where humanity has nearly gone extinct, you will play as a character aboard the Astra Vitae, an experimental spaceship crewed entirely by exceptional women. Together, you’ll travel back in time to rewrite history and save humanity—facing difficult choices and their consequences along the way.

The game is being developed for Oculus Quest, and this is my very first project! While I’m a developer by training, I’m also diving headfirst into learning 3D modeling. It’s a challenging process, but I’m committed to improving at every step to bring this ambitious universe to life.

WorldRise - First Look at Doctor Anaya Veyla!

I’m excited to share a first look at Doctor Anaya Veyla, a key character in WorldRise. She will be part of our first demo, scheduled for next week! While it's not perfect yet, I wanted to share this important milestone with you.

I still have a few challenges to overcome, particularly with the hair modeling, but I’m looking forward to showing you her progress in the coming days.

I am thrilled to share exciting progress on our project! The modeling of Doctor Anaya Veyla, one of the key characters of Astra Terae, is advancing rapidly. This character will play a crucial role in the first PRE-demo of WorldRise, which I plan to make available to you very soon.

Alongside her visual creation, I’m also working on integrating interactive systems to enhance gameplay. I’m experimenting with different interaction modes to make the character’s reactions and positions as immersive as possible, aiming for a realistic dynamic rather than predefined menu-driven actions.

It’s a significant technical challenge, but your encouragement and support provide the energy needed to move forward. There is still much work to be done, but every step brings us closer to a more vibrant and engaging world.

Haha, I love your excitement! I'm hurrying to finish the pre-demo, and you'll finally get to see the character! Thanks for your enthusiasm, it really motivates me even more!
Probably one of the worst ideas is to "hurry", and "pre-demo" doesn't sound promising.

Don't undervalue the importance of the first impression, most of the disappointed players won't be coming back.
I am sure those previews look great to you, but they're no different than the average sci-fi DAZ3D game, and I can't say I have played any. Those that probably played many of those would be even more critical.

It's way better to slow down, and take months if needed, the most important part is to have a fleshed out Demo, near flawless, with enough content to entice players for more.

You're absolutely right, and I really appreciate your feedback. However, I’d like to add that I’m doing this primarily as a learning experience. I'm a developer, not a graphic designer or 3D modeler. If Daz Studio or Blender didn’t exist, I'd be in a tough spot. And of course, it's 100% free because I don't feel I'm at the level yet to charge even a single euro.

Thanks a lot for your advice, I'll continue in this mindset and post more relaxed, as you suggested.

Quick update on our beloved Dr. Anaya Veyla. Her hair has made some real progress, and it's finally starting to take shape! That said, I’m still struggling a bit with the lighting to showcase her as beautifully as she deserves.

Anaya Comes to Life – New Details and Progress
Hi everyone!
Over the past few days, I’ve been working hard on Anaya, aiming to make her as realistic and immersive as possible. I even treated her to a make-up session to enhance her features and added a unique tattoo that reflects her backstory and the universe of WorldRise. Every detail counts to bring her to life and reinforce her identity.
Highlights of the Recent Progress:
• Facial Expressions: My next key focus is to ensure Anaya can convey believable emotions. This step requires meticulous work to maintain realism in her animations.
• Lighting Mastery: I’m refining the lighting to perfectly highlight her skin, textures, and the overall atmosphere.
• Realistic Hair: Still a big technical challenge, but each adjustment gets closer to the fluidity and texture I’m aiming for.
• Oculus Complexity: One of the biggest challenges is balancing high levels of detail with the technical limitations of the Oculus, which can’t handle too many polygons. This requires a lot of optimization to stay true to the artistic vision without compromising performance.

Hi everyone!
I’ve made good progress over the past few days on lighting and texturing, and I’m pretty happy with the results. I spent quite a bit of time achieving a realistic look for the characters’ skin, and even though it wasn’t easy, it was definitely worth it. I just hope the Oculus Quest will handle this level of polygons—fingers crossed!

At the same time, I’ve finished the beta test version of the Hospital Room, which will serve as the foundation for the game’s first demo. A major milestone achieved!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to export the introduction video for you… My Mac M1 is reaching its limits. I’m planning to upgrade to a Mac M4 Pro next month if it fits within the budget.

A huge thank you for your visits and support—it really keeps me motivated! ❤ Next step: Unity integration. It’s going to be quite the challenge… but we’ll keep pushing forward!
