Noticed the pay by cash at the cafe was also draining my bank account. $20 from each and when I only had money in the bank and bought a coffee it charged me $40....

Also really took my time and enjoyed the corn

Aaaand we officially have our first bug
Thanks for the report, I'll make a note of it. I think that I'll include the bugfix in the v0.02, since the game desperately needs some actual content first and foremost.

EDIT: Yeah, found the bug - the fix will arrive in v0.02, with a plethora of other content (y)

Hi,

I really like your design; it's so simple and elegant. Your animations are really clean, you can tell there's a lot of skill behind them ;). However, you can tell you love the icons! The sound effects are effective too.
And to finish off with compliments, I'm jealous of your laptop.

As for the flaws, I'd say it's not graphic enough for my taste; it loses some of the immersive feel. And I haven't met anyone yet except for a guy at the supermarket :D.

  • Yay, update!

Hey Moltes , thanks for the feedback and all the kind words, they mean a great deal to me!

I'm jealous of your laptop
Check out the About screen, I list the authors of that cool open/close animation and assets I used. That said, the original, static mechanic is heavily modified for interaction with Twine/SugarCube (and will be even more modified in the future), but the basic css transforms have not been changed that much from the original, for now at least. I'll need to think of some clever ways to dynamically resize this bad boy for mobile resolutions :D

it's not graphic enough for my taste
It's not graphic enough for me either - I plan to heavily populate the game with content in the coming updates. For the initial release I focused mainly on creating the UI and some good scalable logic - to add the future dialogs and events more easily.

I haven't met anyone yet except for a guy at the supermarket :D
I'll definitely implement a hint system on the phone; for now:
  • Try to roam around the Downtown area on weekdays to trigger an encounter (you're not the first person to glance over this interaction - it's a design flaw I'll need to address)
  • Visit the Downtown's Red Light District at Night - make sure you have some cash in your wallet ;)

I will say a few things that I also say to my gave dev friend.
"If you want to make money in the short run, make a compact, short game. If you want to make money in the long run, make something good and never finish it so that it will generate more money but finish it just they accuse you of being a scum. But If you want to create a legacy: Then don't stop until there is nowhere to go."

1-) Outline What You Want To Do: What you want to create? What should be added to this game? What is your story, your ultimate goal? Write this down and don't be afraid to add OR EXTRACT somethings.

2-) Work On Something Until It's Finishes/Or Don't: Many creators do this differently and IMO you should focus on finishing each and every thing one by one. Sure when you focus on Marriage Ending, Harem People will be displeased but people who is interested in Marriage will get what you deliever. And when you anounce Harem; Harem people will go "Now our time has come! Finally!" and be hyped. But other devs do the other way and they are successfull to but their success depents on Number 3 or 4 not this one.

3-) Selling Your Soul to Demons or Getting Lucky: Let's be honest, some games don't deserve their success when you look at them. I mean Summertime first came to this site in 2016. Nine Bloody Years and it's still "in development" and second most liked game. Does it deserve it? Debatable. Unlimited Pleasure certanly don't but it get's cake. What I mean is that you might not get the recognition you want. Maybe never. But this does not actually show success or make you successful. The Number 4 is what makes you successful. It's guarantee that if you read number 4 and act on it, you will be successful.

Drumrolls Please...

4-) Don't Stop, Never Stop: Click Latest Updates, Prefix: Abandoned and Sort by Likes, Views or Weighted Rating does not matter. What do you see? Someone before you with ideas, desings and games that go out, get popular, get liked and...
POOF! No more. What is the problem then? Money? No. Do they enlisted? I hope not. They were successful and was going strong until they are no longer. So take a lesson on this.
Keep developing your game.
-Bad reviews? Does not matter new update.
-Game not liked? Does not matter new update.
-You have a burned out? Does not matter. Take care of yourself and new update.
Don't Stop Updating. You want to stop? Just finish then.

Not before.

I mean Deathable, Midlife Crisis, The 'Bloody' DeLuca Family got abandoned! BE FUCKING DIFFERENT AND CONTINUE!

All said and done, It's a great start and you will go long way if you don't skip on testing and bug fixes. Add more content, don't skip on bug fixing nor testing and make sure it is enjoyable. Grind is not entirely bad but if you make a grind like SunSity - then fuck you. Check the names I write and be kind to yourself.

Remember. You may not get the money nor popularity in the next week, month or even a year. But you will get it with time and dedication.

Edit: I almost forget but invest in a drawer or something to lose this AI shit. Sure it's "your only way" but it looks bad on the resume and game. The sooner you lose the 'ai cg' tag the better.

Yup, unfortunately that's the initial release for you. My main focus for v0.01 was to have the baseline mechanics ready - I'll get to populating the game with actual content in the subsequent updates.
I do get it, having the best mechanics set will make writing scenes and content much easier as you don't have to constantly fiddle with new macros and variables, and streamlines the process. I've played plenty of 0.1 releases with more content on the first release, but that I couldn't enjoy because the game was buggy as hell, or lacking any polish in general. Just wished there was more content here, so I could see whether or not I like the writing style/content/kinks etc.

As for the "quick buck" part - I can copy-paste my FAQ point about this, that this project is and always will be free, and all the crowdfunding is purely optional, you owe me nothing, etc, etc - but I think I'll just put my money where my mouth is - and with me delivering updates, you'll decide for yourself if I'm just some fraud or not. I fully intend to prove you wrong on your hunch :D
And no, I don't think there's anything wrong in having a support page up and running for the game from the start, in fact it's basically the norm nowadays. And I fully believe you have no intention of paywalling content, or making the game super grindy in effort to sell "cheats" through Patreon membership.

The little amount of content in an initial release just screams to me "minimum content added which each update, but they're frequent so people will be tricked into thinking that there's plenty of progress". Not to mention it gives me doubts whether you're really into actually writing said content.

Always happy to be proven wrong though. :) Good luck with developing the game, and I'll hope to drop by some time, to check out the updates!

Hey HazedSS7 thanks for the reply! It's always beneficial to have a direct discussion.

Me too, believe me, me too. The v0.02 will address this very issue - but it'll take some time to create.

And I fully believe you have no intention of paywalling content, or making the game super grindy in effort to sell "cheats" through Patreon membership.
Fuck that, hell no. As I stated before, there will not be any form of system that would enable any exclusive in-game content for Patreon/SubStar memberships. Besides, the F95 wizards would just pick this system apart, especially with such open platforms like Twine - so why even bother, when I can spend that dev time implementing some cool things?

The little amount of content in an initial release just screams to me "minimum content added which each update, but they're frequent so people will be tricked into thinking that there's plenty of progress". I can only speak through the actual effort I'll put in the project with subsequent updates, so I'll just say - stay tuned :D

Good luck with developing the game, and I'll hope to drop by some time, to check out the updates!
Thank you, I really appreciate all the kind words.
That, and I really need all the luck I can get, as the image gen is a slow process when you actually care about quality

Here's hoping for pregnancy content eventually~!
Ill wait 4 pregnancy, but im watching this game with interest.

I'll be excited to implement pregnancy mechanics and some cool content related to it as well - however right now I'm working towards populating the game with any content - for it not to be so barebones like the v0.01 kinda is.
It'll take some time to do it right :D

I might save this as a draft and use it, all game devs need to hear this, especially with how toxic some ppl are to devs.

I remember seeing a game made in the Penp'y with decent graphics and somewhat general harem/family story. With the promises of pregnancy, I was intrigued and looking forward to it. After a few days when I peruse the pregnancy tag, I see the game as Abandoned. I check out to see three 1 star review with blatant harassment and more on the comments. Dev could not take it and pulled the plug early. I was saddened to see that someone who is passionate and willing to put his money and effort, bullied to let go.

I'm not a dev but I know what kind of hard work and effort goes in to being one. And seeing people who does nothing of the sort just spew toxicity and harassment left and right makes my blood boil.
