VN - Ren'Py - Completed - The Engagement [v2.5.1] [Captain Kitty]

This is quite a head scratcher. I want to try to be as fair as possible, as it seems to be the first game of this dev. I only played the Harem route, as I do not really care about NTR, so I try to focus on the facts that do not directly have to do with the story.

Pros:
- I actually like how the girls look
- towards the end, the animations become okay-ish
- I like the premise, and even though the story is more towards the con side (more on that later), the harem ending does actually not feel too forced
- multiple routes with multiple endings

Con:
- models are relatively plain (even though I liked them)
- the sex scenes early on were quite clunky
- the sex scenes lack any kind of actual sexiness. I assume the game was meant to be an NTR game first and foremost, so the only sex scene early on with the MC was more like a rape, which I really am not a fan of.
- the story is... well, I don't know what that was. TBH, at times, it did not make any sense at all. Some parts felt heavily shoehorned in and without any meaning or sense.


- no music (given it's from 2019 I am not that mad about it, but if you, the person reading this text, ever plan to create a game like this on your own, please add ANY KIND of music. Just background music is fine, it just adds so much to the ambience. There is literally no excuse not to just slap some royalty-free elevator music into the game and call it a day.
- no real ending, seems like the dev planned it to be a 2 part game, at least


All in all, for a first attempt, it was fine, but I feel like there is too much emphasis on the story continuing in the second game, Jealousy. I think a separate ending for this game would have been better.

This one is a terrible game. The graphics is quite bad. The female characters are not very attractive. The story is not very enjoyable. But the worst thing is, that author probably mix raping and NTR. In genre of NTR game, this one is among the worst.

This game puts every attempt to get you to go to the NTR with multiple ladies. If your very careful you can get around it. I didn't really care for the story and the ending was very subpar. It just seemed like Dev just wanted to wrap this up. There was a possibility of a harem route (of 2) but that ending was poor at best. Seemed like there should have been a lot more to that ending.

The girls are good, that's not the issue.

The problem are from my experience this:
1) it's too short. It feels like an introduction only.
2) there are not much variety in girls for the MC (from what i saw 2 girls only); it makes the stories interesting as it is centred on them, but also do not help the duration of the game
3) the whole "vacation trip" is built and dealt with like a comical event... it is not fit with the rest of the story.

nice game with good graphics and silly plot (which is necessary for game to actually work).

plenty of pretty girls and some can be fucked on this and all on sequel (depending path chosen), like said earlier plot is silly and has more holes than in swiss cheese but that's needed to make game to work.

A game with potential but dragged to the finish line.

Story
In start promising but soon gets out of track. I still do not get what was the purpose of the dreams creature. The crash accident is a bad set-up for those actions: more realistic would have been a weekend team building somewhere at a cabin. Also there are some characters introduced for nothing and some decisions that have no impact.

The split of direction between fuck MC / NTR is interesting but here it also seems forced and you feel the need to interact with a character just to avoid another character molesting her

Girls
Olivia, Suzie and Emily are all good looking
Emily seems a real girl with real needs which do not cum from just being touched by a dick or being too entusiatic about being in a polygomous relationship. That make her felt real for me and making a connection with her. Few devs made me felt that way so i believe that other devs should keep this in mind, especially for games where character metter.

This game is a mess. The only good part of the game is how cute several of the characters look.

Plot is so random that is borders on nonsensical
Dialog is horrible and unrealistic
Choices are limited
MC doesn't understand foreplay and every encounter has undertones of rape.
Characters attempt to be something other than flat and boring but fail
Almost every scene feels like a non-sequitur

The game feels like like they started with a fetish (Netorare/cuckolding) and just built a game around the concept but forgot about story and character.

At least the game didn't crash on my mac, so it avoids the one star rating.

This is the worst ntr story so far in my opinion. Esp. the events in the party at Woody George's house is beyond reality. Emily Rothman's letting Woody fuck her that quick before her ex's and others' eyes total nonesense. A good game should be built on a good story first. Graphics and animations comes after. That s why I voted with one star.

3/5 is probably even a little generous for this game, however there is only just word to describe this: "average".
The story starts out quite strong and some certain interesting paths emerge but in the mid-way point it seems like the author just ran out of ideas and used the most meh deus-ex-machina ever and rushed the game to the end.
The animations nor the renders are anything special - just bland and something from the past.
Hence, this is just an average game of which here are hundreds.

Probably one of the worst games I've ever played.

• The dialogue is awful as conversations sound completely unnatural and stunted. It's honestly not even worth reading it, to be perfectly honest.
• The story is a disjointed mess that bounces around without any real structure or direction. I mean, what the hell was that plane crash thing all about? You get an email talking about a company retreat, then the next thing you know the plane has crashed, you're totally fine, and everyone's walking around in their bikinis and board shorts like nothing happened? That whole thing was just weird.
• The female characters are also generally bland and uninteresting, and the male characters, with the exception of the MC, are all total assholes that just feel caricatures of typical asshole behaviour.
• The walkthrough for the game is also piss-poor because even though I followed all the decisions for the harem route, I somehow ended the game with Suzie going back to China and getting marriage-raped by some asshole she was forced to marry.

So, yeah, pretty terrible game all around and a total waste of time.

I don't understand the rate of this game. NTR is optional but game has less romance content with NTR. Girls are beautiful and characters act out of the box . Average games in this site provided 3 or 4 key choices and in the end of the game you recognize the fact that other choices was meaningless. In this game not so obvious what is the good choice for the end you want so you don't have that control which possibly used in average games in this site. My only problem with this game is the length maybe too short but it also matters what you used to.

Mmmmh, based on the previews this game achieved to incite me to take a closer look after a long time, so I tried it out... sadly the game became boring to me pretty fast.

The game feels rushed, without any character development. The player just leaps from scene to scene, jumping into different perspectives that poorly connect to each other, if any. Also many of the weird scenes appear to be implausible, but that could be because of the missing character development.

So far I liked the renders pretty much, but sadly that's the only thing to like - As it didn't even had any sound or music in it. The abbreviated story couldn't keep me on the game for long.

I initially found this EGame interesting and wanted to make at least 3 different save paths but soon found out that this is not happening so i waited for it to be completed and only played it once...

The story overall seems short and is virtually fixed so there is very little room for choice here (harem is forced IF you want the real ending that then continues the story to the sequel/Part 02 or whatever it's called), this is not cool and breaks the story in many ways specially if you think choices matter here. Story feels weird and chaotic at times not to mention some events like crashed planes on the island which make things even worse. There are 6-7 females characters here and only 2 or maybe 3 are "love interest" potential if i can even call it that, MC's girlfriend (she is forced on you from the start, why so many devs do this in these EGames is beyond me) is freacking weird and has some problems from past that she takes out on MC for no reason what so ever (yes there is no choice you can make here to make things different), characters are not that bad but lack personality which some of them makes quite empty specially the MC which seems like a confused bot sometimes. This EGame had potential, it really did but imploded on itself and this is what we got

Little advice if i may, the dev needs to focus more on story, characters and actual choice development if he wants to improve... if not i won't be surprise if nothing changes to better in the future

The general lack of choice in this game made it a real grind. It started strong then just sort of fell into a loooong dialogue between uninteresting characters then i just ended. Some of the renders are decent, But from the plane wreck where miraculously everyone survives unscathed to the odd assortment of dysfunctional relationships it was reeally hard to gt into it.

I have played this game several times and each time I find it frustrating to the extreme. No one character is based on what you would find in "real world" as dev would have you believe. The NTR is forced in the game and does not flow from any non contrived experiences. The ladies while good looking are psychologically nuts! Who goes nympho and falls in love when a co-worker rubs a shoulder and then plays with her tits the first time they are forced to sleep in the same room?

In all avoid this mess. This is not the NTR you are looking for...

The characters are bland and unlikeable including MC. Well suzie is just bland. Some of character actions totally contradictory from scene to scene especially the GF.

The story is just as bland and unimaginative.

The paths are a mess, for some of love path you have to let them get hit on and exposed while for some of NTR paths you have to build up relationship. If you go full romantic or full ahat you miss most of content yet there is no logical system for when to play opposite to path.

A lot of NTR is actually not, if you chasing one woman and another is getting laid (willingly or not) its not NTR. So unless you playing harem path and screw up (not hard with illogical choice system) or somehow fumble a romance path its not NTR. If you re intentionally screwing up so they get laid by others is it really NTR?

Renders are decent but the angles are not very good for most scenes.

So this is a hard game to review, as I don't like to review for or against a game based on a given kink as what people like and dislike are purely 100% subjective and thus there are not right or wrongs in this area of a game. Some people like apples some people don't, it is neither right nor wrong to like apples.

That said this game seems to try and blend kind aka NTR and Harem into the same game which seems to me to be a recipe for disaster in terms of player expectations, and desires for half the audience. And given how the game's mechanics are all about choice and consequences this seems to compound the chance of player "annoyment" vs player enjoyment.

There is no clear path to haram content and NTR is much easier to navigate to as you just need to neglect or annoy your lover. So NTR fans probably going to love the game as there are no "hidden" traps for them. That said if you want harem content you are going to get pissed off and likely quit the game as there so far is only one perfect path to get said content and even following the walkthrough i couldn't get that content to fire. Bug? Who knows but it was that sensitive a path that one deviation from the perfect path closed the content to me. (I cheated in the point required to access it to see it)

There is also a HUGE disproportion of NTR content vs Harem content and so many ways to gather NTR points vs harem points that again this game sets up a situation the make 1/2 their potential audience happy and half annoyed.

This terrible design choice to merge NTR and Harem content and the very weighted mechanics system against harem content forces me to address this game based on the kinks of the game.

If you like NTR you will probably have a blast with the concept of the game. If you want anything other than that you will likely be more frustrated than happy with the game's content because the mechanics are not fairly applied to both genres and paths to get said content are broad for one and narrow as fuck for the other.

The stills are great but you know as of July 2019 this is really a nothing pro in terms of pros and cons because almost every game is doing great renders now. The animations are crap/non existent which 5 years ago wasn't a con but in july of 2019 this hurts the game for many users, The story is poorly written but by far the worse on the site. Amount of content is spread thin catering to two genres in a single game but over all is good.

This game would have been 100 times better as just a simple NTR VN with limited choice and consequence system. It is the fact that this game tries to be two things at once the hurts it. Harem content sucks and is hard to get because of all the NTR minefields. And the NTR content would have been better served if all the content of the game was directed in that direction vs having that content spread thin to serve the poorly implemented harem content.

All in all given the design choices the conflicting player genres and make no mistake harem and NTR are conflict very deeply for the majority of fans, along with it lower end production values for 2019 this game fairs poorly. And players would have been better served had the developer made two separate games. (Not suggesting working on two games at once just focus on one game then switch genres for the next game)

This game has a nice balance between NTR/Love. Suzie is one of the hottest 3d game girls I've ever seen. I really hope the stories are developed to a conclusion. It can be kind of hard to find all the routes through blind play, but the walkthrough explains the point system that works behind the scenes.

not a fan or ntr but that is not the reason for the poor review the characters them self's are the reason the mc's gf is crazy i did the meeting with the other girl cause shes so cowardly her first meeting would have her raped and then your gf considers outright cheating on you now i can look past the ntr but what is that mindset both of them basically need the mc to be with them all the time one is crazy the other weak willed or something then the other guys and so on its just a headache to play might upgrade the review later if they polish the game later
