  • I feel like the issue that I see right now is the lack of small goals and learning curve. I know that this type of game demand you to die and learn from your past experience to advance and as of right now I managed to reach the zone with spider and vampire (I have been playing for a solid 1 hour trying t understand the mechanism of the game) but as of right now I feel like I am feeling more stress as if I am doing chores rather than real exploring to uncover how to progress. For me at least, the learning curve is slow, the navigation of the world feel tedious. I would feel like some special interaction with the monster girls could greatly improve my experience if like some species had some valuable information about others monster girls (for example instead of just having the bunny girls being mindless sex zombie , you could have some rare loot or give valuable informations like secret about others monster girls. The cowgirls may have a chance to join you as a friend and protect you if you giver her something specific that the player would have learn with maybe the catgirl or bunny girl.) Even better getting a rare or legendary loot/weapon could be a good engagement value if the player manage to defeat all monster on the current map. For the other map with vampire you may have some not liking the spider girls where if one saw then a fight between the two may happened, thus giving you a chance to escape.
  • - Also, the “oh you picked up something but unfortunately you did something dumb with it, now you are going to die or you dead get old really quickly. ” Could you introduce some random effect like boosting one stats significantly but diminishing another or changing one object in my inventory by something else ? Having the scroll do something else with fun or interesting effect when “misreading a scroll” instead of just having something negative
  • Too much death and not enough things to look forward too (the gallery scene are there sure, but if I have to be real, between playing the game and simply ask for a cheat/save I fear most player will take the second option.)
-I couldn’t pass the vampire zone, this is where my experience stop for today. Please, you may not consider everything I note down but at least bring some new change to game in the future. Wish the game and project good luck

Yeah, the game is quite hard, and not in a good way... I was basically making "Rogue, but with sex" - like, original Rogue - and I haven't really done much to bring it closer to modern day standards.

As for the clarity improvements. I was thinking about two things:
1) Log more info in the console (side panel), explaining what is happening under the hood, in terms of game mechanics and numbers, and not just in flavor text. For instance, when you try to initiate sex:
Trying to penetrate - failure: attack (4) + d20 (3) < Angel's defense (8)
Damn these interspecies relationships... you can't find where to put your stick
Trying to penetrate - success: attack (4) + d20 (5) > Angel's defense (8)
You thrust your penis into Angel's pussy
Angel gains 30 points of pleasure
You gain 15 points of pleasure
Or, when you try to read a scroll:
Trying to read - failure: Intelligence (10) < 12
You've probably misread something...
This can create a lot of noise in that panel, but I can make it a toggleable option. This way, when something doesn't work, you see immediately why.
2) Extend "Inspect" action to monsters too, and provide a glossary link when you use it. I don't have analytics, but I suspect people aren't using glossary a lot xD. Which is my bad, cause it isn't exactly convenient to access. But if, for example, you struggle with a Cowgirl, so you inspect her, and within one click there's a little article about her behaviour - that would hopefully be a better experience.

As for additional interactions with the girls. That sounds like a really cool feature, but would be rather hard to implement, because that impacts many parts of the system. Not gonna go into technical details, but that is gonna break a lot of the game's internal rules.
But something simpler (like, more useful reactions to "Talk" action) sounds feasible, I'll think about that.

As for small goals / rewards. Giving the player something when they fully clear the level might be a good addition, I have actually thought about it myself! Although I was thinking less about "rare" loot and more about "stuff that might be useful on the next level". For examle, when you clean the graveyard level, the game would allow you to choose between a random scroll (which may come in handy against Phoenix) and a bit of gold (which will help with Angel).
And then the game would also tell you something like "3 more girls left on this level" when you're close to clearing it, so that you know that you're close (which would make you think that there's a reason for the game to tell you that, and thus pursue the completion).
Yeah, this is definitely something I'll be adding!

As for the scrolls and their effects. The results of misreading a scroll already vary. For instance, if you misread "Double Dick Scroll", the second dick might grow when one doesn't expect (like on an elbow) - which is barely an inconvenience. But misreading something like a "Scroll of Restoration" is surely much more punishing, you're right. I tried to make it so that no "low Int" action results in immediate game over, but some may bring you really close to it - which, in my opinion, should be like that. But I can see how it's a problem, because the game doesn't really explain you what exactly went wrong. Perhaps those extra logs I mentioned before can help?
By the way, boosting one attribute while lowering another one is already in the game, but that's an effect for the food, not scrolls xD

As for not having enough incentive to keep playing. Some people suggested actual meta progression, like increasing stats between runs, or selecting your starting item. Honestly, I don't quite like that, and I probably won't be able to properly balance it. What would you say, what other things could you spend the dream shards on (besides gallery)? Maybe unlocking some hints / trivia? Or maybe additional outfits for the Succubus?

Phew, lots of words xD. Overall, plenty of food for thought, thank you again for your suggestions. I will surely keep working on improving the game!
