First non-flash porn game I played was Summertime Saga. It completely blew my mind, a huge leap above everything else I've seen before.

Dunno I've just heard it repeated online.
Not everything you read online is true. And it apply even more to statistics when they are biased from starts...

Let's do a test... I asked google if young generation actually have less sex, and one of the links in the first page is . A really short news (7 lines) where you can read this: "As part of her research, Sherman interviewed more than 100 teenagers, college students, and sexual health experts."
So, according to this person, US people between 13 and 28 have less sex, because "more than 100" persons tell her so... This while in the USA there's ...
Assuming that here "more than 100" mean 999, it's 0,002% of the people between 14 and 24 (and there's still 5 years missing). How is this significant in any way? Especially since some were experts not actually young peoples.

Meanwhile, ... In Mississippi, that have the highest rate, 2.5% of girls between 15 and 19 had a baby in 2023, and I'm pretty sure that it's because they had sex.
But what is a better indicator is . There's around 20 millions new case each year in the USA, among which 10 millions for people between 15 and 24. So, 20% of the Gen Z not only had sex, but they also caught a STD due to this. And 15% of college students reporting that they never use condoms (same source), you can easily assume that at least 50% of Gen Z actually have sex regularly enough.

This doesn't mean that there's actually a rise in virginity and in the number of sexless persons. But everything is relative, "more" doesn't mean much when it apply to a low percent.

Didn't read all that but I still think there might be some truth to it with the porn and incels and onlyfans being so in demand

It mean absolutely nothing.

Remember the CEO who was caught with his mistress at a concert? Well, he also spent , yet with a wife and a mistress, I'm almost sure that it had sex time to time.

Idk I feel like there's always some truth to stereotypes n shit. As for the married guys watching porn n stuff it's cuz their wife's make it a chore to have sex. But they won't tell you that for obvious reasons :ROFLMAO:

Right now porn games can only cater to the niche of porn consumers who are able to find anime or plastic 3dcg people attractive enough, but there's huge potential for the porn games market to grow particularly as long as live action porn studios remain unable and even unwilling to convincingly deliver on the story-related fetishes craved by many -perhaps most- porn consumers (there's a reason why when it comes to porn stories rape-ish/infidelity/fauxcest themes are ubiquitous).

Live action porn studios haven't evolved in their ability to tell those stories over the past 20 years. It's still "stepbro I'm stuck" for the most part. They are even worse at it now than they were in the 70s and early 80s where the best porn movies' production quality (tech/lights, sets, locales, costumes, acting etc) was comparable to that of the mainstream movies of the time.

The main barrier to entry for porn games compared to non-interactive porn now is their lack of visibility -in great deal due to censorship- and how unappealing both the anime/drawn and current 3dcg depictions of people are to the majority of the non-autistic porn consuming market (which is most of the world's population now that 6 billion are connected to the internet).

If tech ever improves to the point that affordable homegrown 3dcg depictions of human beings become realistic enough to catch the eye of the average porn consumer then the sector can explode.

Yeah, it's weird cause it seems like there's so much potential there. Why no porn FMV games for example? Would be a cool genre if anyone did it

I don't think theres much room to grow for real porn kinda. The thing about drawn or computer graphics porn is that you can easily have fantasy or fantastical situations that would be super hard or just impossible to recreate irl. Real porn and fantasy porn are kinda two separate things, meaning like real porn is mostly about seeing real women do strange(degrading) stuff and getting off on that.

And why couldn't it be due to the rise in mind openness regarding sexuality? Girls now all own at least one sex toy, and guys don't fear to use them to add some spice in their sexy times.

When my wife was still alive, most of porn games I played, I played them with her. It's a way like any other to set the mood. It also permit to break the routine, either by showing new possibilities or simply by deciding how you'll starts today. It wasn't this rare that we were playing a game, or watching a porn movie (since pirated games were finally not this frequent at those times) and one of us was, "hey, long time we haven't done it that way..."
I didn't knew sex toys existed until I played porn games hence there are women who don't even use them.

Because it's a lot more hassle + headache

You have to pay each person and from what I could gather a pornstar gets paid $500-$1000 per 'normal' scene. That goes up for fetish scenes and for more 'famous' stars. Then you have to get them to fill out forms of consent/they're over 18. You also a film crew, locations, etc. That all costs money and can also be restrictive in a creative sense.

I guarantee you that if there was serious money in a live action porn game that wasn't just a HTML game grabbing random scenes, a major porn studio would have done it by now.

Your registration date mostly cross you out of the right generation. Sorry, you're born a bit to early to be a born perverse woman ;)

More seriously, there's obviously exceptions. I was more pointing to the difference, when it come to sexuality, between Gen Y/Gen Z, who are more open minded as well as, more important, more informed, and the previous generations who mostly had to guess that the "neck massage" phallic tool they saw in an ad was in fact not at all sold with the intend to serve on this part of the body.

And according to TikTok, the majority of Gen Z don't believe in love, marriage and children. Though they would prefer to see less sex on screen in movies and series and more true friendships.

Them crafty Japanese fellows are always ahead of the game huh
I think porn games are just something that will inevitably emerge once you have reasonably capable personal computers. I found a magazine from 1982 advertising porno games in America. The difference is that Japan is more compact and has a robust infrastructure of small press and self published distribution and different weird prudishness, which made it easier for publishers to make money on porno games. (It was more than just Softporn Adventure, which was really just a precursor to Leisure Suit Larry and not particularly jackable).

Good adult games have existed ever since the 90s. Maybe even before that but i've only touched those from the 90s and after. It's just that they're made in Japan.
Limited exposure to the international market but there's actually a huge underground community for it on mIRC, isolated forums etc. I used to distro for one. You suck it up and play without understanding or pray for fan translations or later on you use a text hook program together with an atlas translator but it's shitty machine translations not comparable to the models nowadays.
Quite a few of these titles even managed to make it into somewhat mainstream media like anime or live action. It's just that people don't know the origins.

It's cool that this industry has gone international. There's a lot of slop but there are a few gems. Plus i really appreciate a non-japanese narrative, pop culture references, theme & setting. A more international work rather than a japanese perspective.

Not sure that TikTok is really representative, only the future will tell us.

AI has greatly lowered the difficulty of game development, which has opened up more space for the growth of adult games.
