100% agree, subscription based services are trash. The one exception I will say is the Xbox game pass, which let's you play hundreds of games during your subscription AND they add new ones regularly to help retain subscribers. I believe something similar should be used here as well. Just use one universal subscription to access everything on the database and dole out the money made to creators based on popularity e.g views, polls ect.
This will never happen because "nooooo figuring out who earns what is too complicated!"

well its also a infrastructure and legal thing, into order to do that contracts are required between the database and creators or else nobody is going to agree to anything, and this get very complicated very quickly. to do that kind of thing you pretty much need to be a corporate entity with a ton of legal infrastructure. and it also starts introducing huge risks like user information privacy, DMCA copyright issues (remember that these people are using other peoples art all the time without permission, and if publishing rights are signed over to the joi database, they are the ones who deal with any and all legal issues), yada yada. its just not realistic for neither the patreon creators or the joi database hosts to do this even if they wanted too

I know, that's why I said it will never happen lol. It is annoying to have to pay for a whole ass membership for one video though. That's why a universal membership would be nice. Unless you're the type that can jack it to anything, there's bound to be at least a few videos per creator that you don't like. I personally like to pay for exactly what I want, no more, no less.

i have rather specific tastes and i get through content pretty slowly. while i was archiving i would toss videos that seemed interesting aside to watch later and i have a backlog now that will likely last me forever despite only having like 20 videos in it. i honestly haven't even looked at like 80% of the creators yet, i just don't have a reason to lol. people keep telling me i will like voidjoi so i guess that's next in line to check out
