This game took waaaaaay too much time just trying to get it working with the valve index. It does work but the control mappings are all over the place.
There is a page in the game that allows you to change the assignment of controls. Did you try ? Once correctly configured, it is automatically stored in user preferences and you no longer need to re-configure them.
Otherwise you should share your experience with the creator so that he can make the changes. The best is to tell him what to wear for the stocks. He doesn't have an oculus VR set, so it's not easy for him to configure properly for this set.
