Grrr im angry too. I scroll the updates as is my daily ritual and among the carefully crafted gems I see it - the glossy finish on the anime girls buttcheeks and it hits me this is god damn ai slop again. I quietly mutter all the curses I know on this foul technology and the slop peddlers and close the tab, my mood now completely soured.
Reading comprehension of a 5 year old.

I thought the point of those games was to just churn out mass-produced slop in the first place. Why would they need to research the market or put in effort when the goal is to just make a quick buck on a few suckers from the 1,000th iteration of "Mobile Game NTR"?

The point is the low effort required and low barrier to entry. It takes a ... certain mindset to adopt that kind of "business model" but it's everywhere. I hate them but they exist because it's easy to do.

What pisses me off is the complete lack of effort most of these devs put into literally everything else. The coding? Half-assed. The mechanics? Nonexistent or just a grind-fest. The story? Might as well not even be there. And because of that, unlocking CGs doesn’t feel rewarding at all. It’s either instant gallery viewer trash or two hours of boring, pointless grind just to get a single still image.

Yeah, pissed me off as well - to the point where I just started making my own game. It has AI CG for sure, but I'm actually trying to create something of quality there.

The image gen takes 100-200 shitty ones just to produce one-two quality pictures? So be it.
Creating an actually interesting setting means going through numerous character sheets, interaction diagrams and some actual effort? No matter.
The progress surely is slow, but in the end I'll do it properly or I won't do it at all.

Like I said, effort always shows in the work. Even in rough Unity/Unreal games, you can tell the dev at least tried to put something into it. I’m not someone who demands perfection either, I even play janky games from Katsuo Festival and one of their titles has been sitting in my request list for months on my profile.
What bothers me is when games come out looking completely void of care or effort, especially when they’re just propped up by AI CGs. That’s the real flood I’m pointing at. All I’m asking is that devs put in some effort to make their games fun. That’s my one constructive feedback.
That's not what constructive feedback means, trashing on shit ai and complaining about low effort will rarely be constructive, its just venting. Tell them what you think is wrong or missing, and if you dont wanna be constructive, Just give em lowest rating, say what you feel about the work, let others know that, and move on.

That will do way more vague complaints and generalizing a new tool

Not sure what you’re getting at by saying that. Are you asking me to dump all my constructive criticism here in one post? Because I already do that, I leave one-star reviews on those games and explain exactly why and what could’ve been done better.
This post isn’t about nitpicking specific titles. It’s about the overall lack of care and effort these devs are putting into their games as a whole. That’s the point. If that didn’t come across clearly, then that’s on me for wording it in a confusing way, but you’re kind of missing what I was actually saying.

I dont get how this is AI art? looks like 3d renders
That's the point, good effort AI stuff doesn't look like AI. They're either heavily edited by human artists, or just used in a way that's not fully generated. There are good AI usages, OP simply didn't try any of them (or wasn't aware they were AI to begin with)

Great job

I get what you are saying, I am just saying that this wont help as people will experiment with a new technology or tool, and most of it will not be good, and you cant really measure effort, or justify restricting them.

All I am saying is that it's natural and the low effort lazy people will eventually stop as people wont give em attention.

Hey give me some props at least. I wrote a long ass paragraph instead of just saying "fuck them devs". :LUL:
This proves my point, if just typing longer posts qualify you for some "props" for saying the same thing with 3 words IDK what to say /s

Would love to see it soon, What is the main premise?
I'm quite sure you already saw it, The Edge of the Map [v0.01] just hit the initial release today :D
It's barebones for now when it comes to content, but I'm very satisfied with how the UI/UX came out, and as for the AI CG that is presently there, I'm pretty confident in its quality.
Also, I've created a custom, streamlined subsystem for adding dialog and player choices - it will scale pretty nicely.

Don't take my word for it though, you'll see the results in the upcoming update - I planned for the v0.02 to be a content injection this game so desperately needs :D

I still cant see the AI part, but maybe that's for the best,
But if you notice both you and him picked to 2 extreme ends :KEK: :KEK:
