I got the demo while it was available and gave it a try. My thoughts can be summed up as:
Nothing special.
The characters are not interesting, the skills and items used are default ones, the combat is slow due to high enemy HP, and there are a lot – and I mean A LOT! - of typos and grammar mistakes. Then came the ending of the demo, and it reminded me of The Last Sovereign, but not as good.
In short, the borrowed art is the least of the demo's problems. I find it very hard to believe that this took 5 weeks to make, as you can make it all in a few hours (a day at most if you are slow or constantly get interrupted).
