Everything taken from print to screen has issues and compromises. I'm just fantasy booking a bit. Interesting to see someone try though.I don't know how well it would translate to TV, especially the more subtle magic segments. The split choices inherent in the game also would pose a problem.
I don't think she's ever mentioned anything about selling the rights.
You play as Simon, he doesn't stay as an old guy, he gets sex power, but he is his own character. So uhm.. question: I did play way, way back this game but I never got around a simple matter. In this game.. you play as someone who you create, or you play with someone else? Because last time I played this, I named the "supposed" hero in the beginning but he ended up killed and I started playing with.. Simon I think was his name? That old geezer who supposedly was the.. someone who had to help the hero? Is still like this? With a default chars with his own name?
Thanks for the answer(s) c:

It's just one of those starts meant to throw in a little twist that starts you off as a douche and then [puts you in control of the actual main character.
This game is not a porn game. Its one of the best 16 bit RPGs I've played in general though. Probably ranks in top 10 along with titles like FF6, chrono trigger, etc. While it can't compete on the artistic or musical side, the scale of the plot and characters are definitely on par. In terms of combat, RPGM can only go so far, but the unique skillsets do a really amazing job of defining each character in battle. Mechanically speaking, this game has the absolute best game balance. There is limited amount of exp because of no grinding spots, and gold so hard to come by that you can hardly buy anything. That might sound bad, but it really makes you think about what equip you want to buy and try to fight strategically instead of grinding for lvls. Then there is the whole political and economic management stuff has a lot of depth. Thanks c:
It's not that I hate the guy or anything, but personally speaking I enjoy more those kind of games who gives you the opportunity to choose your own name, and be the hero of that story and since I remembered that, I hoped that something would've changed through the game. Guess that I'll play as him, even though again like I said, the idea doesn't "excite" me that much.
Meh, it's still totally an erotic fiction game... which i consider a kind of "porn". I reject the idea that erotic fiction must lack a compelling story. Never mind the idea that having a compelling story makes it not be erotic fiction any more. This game is not a porn game.
Please. Let's not say heresies here. Don't compare games like the first FF and Chrono trigger to this porn game here, please. Let's leave aside those and talk about this right now. You can compare this with others porn game, but not with AAA out there, even if you mean only the gameplay and such. This game is not a porn game. You shouldn't pass on it just because you can't name the guy heh. I mean, how much does a name really change in terms of immersion? By the way, Simon IS the hero of the story. You play as the young guy only in the short intro. "The Chosen" is like a recurring joke char in this game.
Well, if we aren't counting action RPGs then Tactics Ogre probably shouldn't count either... as it's a turn based tactics game.1. FF6
2. Chrono Trigger
3. Mario RPG
4. Tactics Ogre
5. FF4
6. Front Mission
7. Bahamut Lagoon
8. Romancing Saga 3
9. Tales of Phantasia
10. FF5
I never played earthbound, sorry. Also Dragon Quest series slipped by me.
Ok and some of these are tactical RPGs so they might not belong on the list if we are dealing with traditional jRPG. Secret of mana, Seiken densetsu 3, terranigma, Zelda are great games that would belong in a general list but I left it out since those are action RPGs.
Not putting the bar very high, are we? :vSierra has put more thought, care and work into this than Bethesda did into Fallout 76 and that's a full price AAA game..
There's a reason she's getting 5k a month for a shitty ero text rpgmaker game.I'm okay with naming this along side AAA titles of the same genre and style. If this had released (say minus the erotica) from a larger development studio I wouldn't complain.
Just like old school RPG's it's given me 80+ hours of enjoyment and i've enjoyed both the story and the gameplay. I do enjoy grinding in RPG's and while this doesn't have the grind it does have plenty of combat and enough characters for me to switch up parties to try new things if I start to find it stale.
The characters are all well written and are enjoyable to get to know, even the antagonists.
With how much thought and work has gone into the systems that make up for war scores, city scores, voting, funding and general gameplay I don't see why this can't be considered alongside AAA RPG's.

Look at all the amateur devs on Steam selling Unity asset flips, cheap survival games and general shit. This can't be counted the same as those.
It can work pretty well actually, just look at games like Eiyuu Senki. If they end up doing scenes once the game is done, I hope Sierra doesn't get rid of the text that they currently have, but rather "augment" it by putting it behind the text. That wouldn't work very well for some of the scenes though, as even if she gets a good contrast between text and scene, it might not end up looking good. The only other thing I can think of is to have an option to have only text, or scene with text at the beginning of the game and then have the gallery that becomes accessible later have an option of how to view them.
I know that it isn't very likely that it'll be done very soon, let alone at all. If she ever does it, I hope that these options are considered, as I wouldn't want the feel of the game to be ruined by forcing the players to experience it completely different to how they used to.
I don't mean to be insulting but I can't help but ask, what are you talking about?Aaaaand now my desire of playing this, after reading everything above, went literally down.
Oh well, I have many other games.
