The irony is that the only ones getting riled up is y'all. And from what i've seen, it's something that happens a lot around here. Someone says something different from the norm and the whole squad comes in, offended over a handful of words, wielding passive aggressive essays on to why they are wrong.

Next time ask why someone thinks as they do, rather than immediately getting overly protective and jumping to conclusions. We're talking about a porn game, as much as y'all would like to believe it's the next divine comedy, and if nothing else it might allow for some actual discussion, rather than a short-lived circlejerk followed by months of "how do i do this/how do i do that".

Well at the end of all that- all I can still say is that I really disliked the gathering scenes and I am glad to hear that that sort of content was cut out later.

I still wish I could have avoided it; and I don't know that equivocating "why" the characters did it does anything for me. I don't really see how two very powerful succubus characters couldn't get off a bunch of filthy dumb-ass orcs or an ogre with an illusion or sexual magic ect ect.

It'd be super easy to use the same scene but throw a description of an illusion being cast in front of it for those as a player choice either way.

Hell Qum had a spell called "illusionary orgy" in her spell-book during the whole event.

The fact that there was a counterbalance of a stat for one of the characters Qum- was only willing to participate in the events only if she had high enough relation to the MC made it so much worse for me. Like I was whoring her out even though I didn't want to.

We can all argue to the end of the moon about how one should or shouldn't feel as a result of this type of content: but for me; it made me really uncomfortable- I wished I could avoid it; and I don't know that talking about it will change my attitude.

I think the narrative could have easily been achieved in other ways.

the last release was april 23, it was three months to release one hour of gameplay (at least it is like that on the regular dont know about this one).

Fair points. I think the dev mentioned at some point that she wished that she could have made some content in the game optional even if it would differ a bit from the original planned story and intent, the context of what she said that about was (spoilers involving Robin) Simon and Robin developing an incestual relationship, but I could easily see it also applying to scenes involving members of the harem with other men. She didn't do it for the first thing because it was more relevant to the story and retroactively altering the game to account for variation on that department would have been a lot of work, but since mandatory scenes of the harem with other men are pretty much exclusively contained to the gathering, maybe it could be possible to add a toggle for alternative versions of those scenes that don't actually involve Yarra and Qum directly having sex with the ogre and the orcs.

I like your idea about the illusions, but I would say they'd need to be adapted a little bit, the tone of the gathering is generally to show that Simon's group is still somewhat outclassed by the other major powers, so having Yarra and Qum just easily solve things with illusions would be a bit out of the tone of the event, they are not meant to be that strong yet. Also the point of the scene with the orcs was to be a proof of good will, not just dispatching of them by wringing them out with sexual magic.

I think what you said of an actual "illusionary orgy" scene to distract the ogre from his post sounds like a cool idea, but for the scene with the orcs I think something like getting Yarra and Qum to use their magic to power-up Hadi so that she can satisfy all the orcs with the combined power of 3 succubi could be more fitting. But means aside, I think the bigger struggle would be to write motivation, in particular for Yarra, why would she go for convoluted solutions rather than just doing normal succubus sex? I guess maybe something like Qum asking Yarra to also avoid sex with other men until the "best Simon" is back could make some sense, maybe for reasons of "delayed gratification" as well.

I feel like having the openness of sex completely one sided would be a bit 'bleh' story and character wise. Just for me at least it would come across as kinda skeevy if the game presented it as "A OK" for Simon to fuck an office full of succubuses during his section of the split party, but then jump through several hoops to make sure that all the girls of the harem avoided sex for themselves at every turn. I really don't think Simon "betrayed" his harem by sleeping with anyone in the orgasmic Empire, so I can't contradict my own thoughts and somehow act like Yarra and Qum having there own fun at the gathering is somehow wrong.

Obviously I'm not against monogamy for some. I'd be pretty weirded out if there was a section where Carina and Janine went to the bar to pick up cute boys to fuck! As it'd go utterly against their characters.

But at the same time, I'd hate the game if it made Simon a hypocrite who while adding his 27th new woman to his personal harem, got up in a huff when Hilstaria wants to sleep with a succubus or two. The world doesn't need to revolve around the tip of his protagonist dick.

I mean do we want Simon to act like the fucklord? That guy was so insecure that he restricted EVERYONE from having sex unless it was with him.

I personally agree with you 100%, but it is a losing battle.

The game's writing already jumped through some hoops to establish Simon as the only man anyone in the harem could ever want or need through things like clone magic, a severe lack of non-asshole attractive male characters in the cast, and some scenes that to me felt baffling out of character (Yarra needing to clarify the Zirantian white claw leader was "beautiful, but not her type", Nalili being actually turned off when she found out the Givini twins were men, Iris x Orcent staying strictly platonic despite their mutual attraction for pretty lazy reasons and without a proper resolution).

The only thing the game allows to happen after the gathering is that the bisexual women from the harem can still occasionally sleep with other women without Simon being involved (but some people seem dissatisfied with even that happening, so time for Simon to whip out some gender-bender magic so he can also be the only woman the harem can sleep with even when they are in a lesbian mood).

With the context that the dev's decision seems to be to always try to skirt around the issue and never write situations where a clear resolution would need to be made, I can't really fault people for proposing changes to the content that was made before the writing took that direction, namely the gathering, even if just for consistency's sake.

But I do wish the game had actually addressed it at some point though, regardless of which direction it would take. My guess is that the dev couldn't figure out a way of writing into the story such an arbitrary demand to limit the sexual freedom of only the women in the harem, but also didn't want to deal with the potential blowback from actually having them exercise said freedom in some situations. So instead the game stays in this vague gray area of undefined terms, which to me seems contrary to the strong points of this game, those generally being the rational exploration of the functional application of certain tropes and taboos.

I think we are being too binary with sexuality here. What is okay in a relationship is defined by what the partners in that relationship set as the parameters of their relationship. It isn't skeevy a priori for one partner to stick to a different set of rules if both partners agree- nor is it hypocritical to have complex needs or different needs from your partner.

In Rl I only like to have sex with people I love- but if my partner wanted to mess around casually with some girls on the side I'd be okay with it. If she wasn't okay with me doing the same- that'd be fine with me too since I'm not interested in casual sex. If she were against me being poly but wanted ladies on the side for herself I'd still give it a big long think.

If she was looking to add another man to our relationship it would never work for me since I am completely unattracted to men- which would ruin the dynamic for me. If she wanted men on the side I'd feel like I was competing instead of just letting her have something I can't give- femininity.

There are a multitude of relationship states and people have diverse needs and desires- I don't understand the need to pick one side or the other with this stuff as being the most exalted or woke: people aren't like that- we have diverse needs.

As for the game's content: In a game where we are the PC and have sexual content- it is always nicer to have content options when the content menu is diverse to help people keep things to their tastes.

Most of the games menu is Harem; so it is pretty unsurprising when people don't like the very small part of the menu that isn't.

Its bad form to toss a side of pulled pork onto the plate of your vegetarian friend- and just expect them to eat it. It would be much better as a side- you could choose to enjoy it- if you liked it.

If the majority of the content menu was men and women swinging all the time- then that makes sense- do that thing!

The 1st Ardford arc is masterful. I love everything about it.

Especially the music-
The Synth triplets on the intro verses of melody.
That tasteful flute melody coming in from nowhere.
The driving 4/4 beat of the cymbols-
Some instrument I don't even know wtf it is comes in for a soli.
