so, we can all stop, please?
It is a pain point in the game for folks who dislike it.
I don't think commentary on it ever stops until that sort of content is either made optional or made so core to the game that those who dislike it will avoid the game entirely.
Those of us who passionately dislike this sort of content tend to dislike it with extreme venom.
I'd almost posit that the emphasis on romance in the rest of the content tend to attracts a crew that generally has a more pronounced bias against the content type- but I'm reluctant to put sexuality into any neat boxes since it is deeply personal.
As someone who is absolutely adores the majority of TLS but finds some of the sexual content very uncomfortable to the degree such that it sours me some of the characters (primarily Yarra) I feel that I can safely say it is very difficult to reconcile the two aspects for some of us. I want to like yarra- the game wants me to like her and almost seems to frame her as best girl- but I just cannot.
At the end of the day it would be better for the health of the game to provide an alternative to that pain point- and the forums will never be clear of people talking about it unless it does.
Hell- I redid my entire save and sacrificed RP points and all gathering benefits I could just to avoid having to whore Qum at the first gathering. She obviously didn't want to; and was only willing to do so if you had a good relationship with her. It felt even worse to me than if I had decided to whore her out in a brothel- and yarra encouraged her to do it.
I'm sure some other parts are pain points to other people- but for me its the first gathering. Nalili drinks a bunch of orc cum off some chicks face and yarra jacks a couple knights off- which I didn't love- it was on my discomfort line- but not over it. But the 1st gathering- particularly in relation to Qum was a major pain point for me. I'd love to be able to appreciate yarra more. Maybe an alt route will be provided eventually. It'd shut the forums up and make a lot of people happy.
On the other hand- it does generate a lot of conversation- which I supposed is good for the game too?
Writing this has made me wonder what other player's favorite characters are. Gotta be; Orcent, Sarai, and Megail for me- in that order. All of them are interesting juxtapositions, Orcent is the juxtaposition of sapience and beastliness, Sarai is a juxtaposition of faith and disbelief (also megacute), and Megail is a juxtaposition of ruthlessness and kindness.
