oh... and how can you tell that? Im just curious what people think because this game has so many unique and interesting characters. But it would be hilarious if in real life she like say Sarai! hahaDunno about that, but i can tell you which one is her fantasy
this is a way to see the game. for other it's the exact the opposite.Your reply inadvertently displays the main gripe many people have with the game. If I need to follow an optimized guide and/or calculate my game before i play it to not feel screwed, then there is something wrong with the game.
It it such a shame - this game is awesome in so many ways - shame that it has to feel so punishing and difficult as well.
Not really. It's just a matter of preference, I guess. If I need to follow an optimized guide and/or calculate my game before i play it to not feel screwed, then there is something wrong with the game.
Just off the top of my head: Dragon Quest series lets you grind xp if you feel like you need it. Might need help to unlock all content and whatnot, but you don't get fucked by choices or by missing xp. Not the same. Not really. It's just a matter of preference, I guess.
For your information, there's many successful games out there in the world that needs an optimized guide to not get screwed, and I'm talking about big-budget, non-porn, international-level games such as: Final Fantasy (multi-series game, 161 million units sold overall), Dragon Quest (11 series game, latest version sold 6.5 million units ), Chronos Trigger (2.35 million units sold), Radiant Historia (56,500 units sold).
So while I understand this ain't your thing, just remember that games that need to follow an optimized guide have a huge following and is a multi-million market out there in the world
Though of course, there's nothing wrong with your preferences, too.

What you see as possibilities to miss xp, I see as an anti-grind mechanic. I personally hate grinding so I love the fact that enemies are finite. Everyone likes different things, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.Just off the top of my head: Dragon Quest series lets you grind xp if you feel like you need it. The option to grind isn't the same as a requirement to grind. You can grind if you want to, but you don't have to if you want a bigger challenge, faster completion or similar. What you see as possibilities to miss xp, I see as an anti-grind mechanic. which guide? My point is that this game takes it too far. The optimized guide even tells you not to use consumables at all, because you have to sell them. If you need to NOT use consumables, why are they even in the game? If you consume them, you screw yourself over.
We can go back and forth with the same arguments but the point stands, this mechanic DOES remove grinding. Any game that has grinding as an 'option' usually requires it for optimal outcomes, so how is that any different? Nevermind don't answer that. I feel like we're not going to agree anyway. The option to grind isn't the same as a requirement to grind. The absence of the option to grind means that optimizing your play becomes a requirement. Fall behind, and there is no way to make up for it. The snowball has started rolling down the hill.
you made some mistake. Which is complex to say without any other informationI started a new game (v0.58.3) utilizing Thosha's playthrough and may have found some notable glitches:
1) I wasn't able to recruit the sucubus to work in the Ardan restaurant - All I can do is invest in her potion business.
2) Winn didn't mover her operation to the palace from the magic school to help with Windis's body.
3) There was no demon seed gifted from Sabitha at the end of the war and followed the requirements to the letter. - I even went back to my save to replay this part with and without torturing the Fucklord's soul.
Anyone else experiencing any of these issues? Thanks.

There is an important difference between games where you can grind up to beat an optional boss if you don't have a clever strategy for it, and games like TLS that require a check of your PCs' levels to qualify for story branches when the story is otherwise not very related to how many random monsters you have fought. We can go back and forth with the same arguments but the point stands, this mechanic DOES remove grinding. Level checks do not open story branches. They give a bonus point here and there in certain calculations (fucklord fight I think is one of them). My point is, in this game I can kill the monsters and its done, I don't have to grind for any content because I'm at the highest possible level until I unlock an area with more monsters. There is an important difference between games where you can grind up to beat an optional boss if you don't have a clever strategy for it, and games like TLS that require a check of your PCs' levels to qualify for story branches when the story is otherwise not very related to how many random monsters you have fought.
dawergast in *.0 was a lot of rng based, but from the .1 it's had nothing about luck and only about strategy. You can use as an example the The fight with 3 Spiders( Dwarghast) in Eustrin that fight is optional but levels dont make to much of a difference you could be level 90 with all characters and still get your ass whooped in that fight. It comes down to strategy and luck. I had Hilstara at around 390 Def shieldwalled with around 7400 hp and 1 hit from the Dwarghest did about 7000 damage to her. So her level didnt really matter to be honest. I lost that fight ike 3 or 4 times before i got lucky enough with the right combo of characters. In some areas of the story level's are relevant in others they arent even a factor.
