Ginasta's methods are still vague, for all we know she could just have hidden them away, banished them for a time, unmade them, or turned them into Popsicles. If she really is unmaking them then I say that she has the right idea for as much good as someone like Simon can do the capacity for evil from them is to great. There is the huge danger if she is just sending them somewhere else in the world , but Simon/Ginasta acknowledged that perhaps the random shards formation is just a natural part of the world and we can never stop random individuals from getting to them no matter how many are either absorbed or destroyed. We really do not know how most shards are found, some have been found in the tower but I doubt Skullcrusher, the fucklord, or incubus king found their shards there. Where did they come from, did they just stumble upon them, did an unknown force give it to them?
G:"I beg you, please... let me destroy it!"
S:"Can that be done?"
G:"Yes. There is... a place where it is possible. I seek to take every shard there and destroy it forever."
G:"If you will let me do this... I will believe that you are different. Just let me destroy his shard, and I will leave you alone."
she think the shard can be destroy for good, but the plan is too risky. and in the end a foolish one.
S:"Please hear my reasoning."
S:"If shards could be permanently destroyed, then their numbers should be dwindling over history... do you have any evidence of that?"
G:"...no."
S:"Likewise, most new Incubus Kings seem to find their shards, not receive them from killing another. Where are they coming from?"
G:"Perhaps they continually arise from the world itself. But if so, I will keep destroying them!"
the power isn't infnite, there are a finite amount of soul shards in the world (realty+tower+anything else), and someone will find it and use his power. like yarra say to ginasta during her prison time "I'm serious! Somebody is always going to be in charge, so it's just a matter of it being the right person!" and if the plan of ginasta is fight against the weather way better simon's plan. (even the anak's one if his word on balance the world is true).
but in the equation there are at least three factor needed to be take in consideration.
1) alonon is powerful and his understanding of the 'fabric' of the world is one of the most advanced.
A:"If you understood, you'd see that it doesn't matter. We may have free will, but that free will is a joke."
A:"Tell me: how many women have been regrettably corrupted near you, leaving you with no choice but to embrace them?"
S:"I... I wondered if the shard was manipulating events, but..."
A:"No!"
A:"The shard is nothing but a symptom! It isn't responsible! When you look at what actually IS, you see..."
A:"..."
A:"You see that none of it matters."
the shard are only a facet of something more complex, something we know nothing, and i find difficult think of ginasta knowing more.
2) we still don't know how the goddess are related of this structure, why they are become active only in the recent time, and they are focused on arclent. even the anak had gloss the whole question in his dialogue with simon.
3) robo-varia talking with ginasta had some interesting line.
G:"I won't let you distract me! My destiny is to slay tyrants!"
V:"Why?"
G:"What kind of question is that? It's a figure of speech..."
V:"We have recently learned that destiny is a real force in our world. One that troubles me the more I think of it."
V:"Consider your life. The power you have found and the goals that have driven you. Do they strike you as completely natural?"
G:"Ridiculous. What do such metaphysics matter? I live to slay tyrants because it is right. That's all that matters."
V:"But are the visible tyrants the true enemy? What if you're obeying the will of a greater master?"
G:"I..."
another example of ginasta short-view.
