The maiden path

The interesting thing is that sexual assault (in any form) is often perpetrated by "normal" people who are known by their victims.
Which ironically enough is the one scenario I almost never encounter in porn games, unless I'm the abnormal one for never sniffing my mother's dirty panties while spying on her in the shower :ROFLMAO:

If you want to look at it from that angle though most "corruption"/Lechertown games also take away all the ambiguity and complexity. It's perfectly understandable to have rose-tinted glasses for a trusted partner or to retroactively consent/forgive them if they went too far. But if some jerkface pulls you into an alley, holds a knife to your throat and leaves you to the stray dogs after the deed there's not much to debate even if you are playing as Hitler. "Use common sense" OR "see da smecks", pick one...

Yeah, from a male protagonist perspective it's quite common, usually in the form of an 18 year old boy "corrupting" / blackmailing his mom and two sisters. It's both very common as well as profitable, apparently.

But a game like High-Rise Climb [v0.66a] [Smokeydots] is a bit more realistic as well as offering an alternative.

But back to the topic: do you allow NPC's to follow the "maiden path"?
The answer is probably no...
Of course the NPC girls in these games are generally not really resisting or against the idea of fucking their brother / boss / co-worker, they just need to be convinced a little bit. :cautious: :ROFLMAO:

Depends on context: if most of the game is non-con/questionable chances are I'm only there for a few fetish scenes and will mentally block out everything else. However if roleplaying as a somewhat decent human being is feasible I usually don't rape random people for some side action. My personal views on consent do not align with modern radical feminism though and the character depth necessary to determine whether e.g. fondling someone at a bar was acceptable if the scene had happened IRL simply is not there even for many female PCs with internal monologue ("some cute boys are looking my way" [smile at them] "eek, he's rubbing my butt!" [3 clicks later] "ooh, kiss me!" - aside from a case for mental retardation in this "18"-year-old, is this consensual or not?)

One really odd case was Slave Maker (v3?): the entire concept of slavery, sexual or otherwise, is more abhorrent than a substantial fraction of the sexual acts you can engage in with your slaves. Materialistically speaking living as an enslaved house-servant under a filthy rich PC who does not beat you is vastly superior to what the game shows of life as a free commoner in that world, and the way the game presents it slaves genuinely fall in love with you if you treat them well. (does Stockholm Syndrome regularly cause victims to make unsolicited confessions of love?) Basically the ancient "benign dictator" problem without the hopes and ambiguities of real human societies.

I enjoy taking the maiden route. Its mostly for the challenge but also because I like to see the alternate versions of scenes if your a virgin. The problem is you can only lose it once and if you lose it to early you need to play threw the game again to see the scene. I also enjoy a challenge run in games where I can see how far I can get iron manning it before they get fucked.

Drawbacks, iron manning it only really works on the first play threw in most cases unless its a game like Virgin protection magic which has avoidable risk.

Another issue the maiden route can be a good alternate story route but its rarely used. It also has significantly less content. I feels like you get either no H or all the H. I blame poor implementation, mostly because most people don't like this kind of playing/fetish.

notajetfighter said most everything else I feel.

I think the closest thing to this that I encounter on a fairly regular basis is me playing an NTR game and avoiding the NTR. Usually the types of NTR games I play are set up so that the NTR happens if you are losing and you avoid it if you're winning. So it's sort of like a difficulty mode. If you lose, the bad guy gets your girl(s).

Thought of another type of game that's actually relatively common. The one where you're a female protagonist in a "cheating wife" style of game and you can choose whether to actually be that cheating wife or to be faithful. The good ones will have plenty of hot scenes with the husband/boyfriend if you're faithful in addition to the hot scenes you get if you play as a slut. Eleanor from LOP is an example of this type of game that a lot of people would probably recognize.

This game works in the same way. The girl wan cheat her boyfriend or not. You can be a total slut or stay virgin at the end of the game.
I'm not against NTR mechanic, but sometimes it's to easy and the innocent women become a huge nympho in one week. It's weird. Like girls in rpgm game. Like clothes who disappear wen hit by monsters, or they even rape her right away. Thinks escalate too quickly and I don't like that.

I guess most authors still adhere to traditional Japanese or Christian values and consider all sexuality to be inherently sinful? Or cater to an audience with these views?
That's not correct. The appeal of the pure girl is that on an instinctual level being with no other man means that if she gets knocked up the child is yours. Of course modern tech makes this mostly irrelevant logically but it doesn't change how people feel about things.

Practically everything about sex and fetishes leads back to breeding even if it some have been warped. Even the burqa is just a warped manifestation of protecting your woman from other men.

But I really hate these games, some of them are probably really good but content is locked behind you losing and the idea of intentionally losing is something I hate, if a game has an optional win that effects the story you bet your ass I'll aim for it. Meltys Quest handles this best where you can get the content for losing but still beat them.

I've actually heard that interpretation before, but how well does it really work if there is no player avatar or designated lover to actually impregnate her? Not in the narrative sense but as a sexual fetish. The scene where they consummate the marriage or a female PC willingly gives up her virginity tends to be fairly underwhelming in itself, sometimes even just a modest wedding dress over a pregnant belly. That is why I mentioned the "sexuality as a sin" angle, the sexual content of the "virgin"/faithful path tends to be extremely underwhelming because the game either ends as that phase begins or skips over it.

I think that's an excellent point, but then why would a father want his daughter to remain pure and innocent?

If it were just about spreading the DNA, the (grand)father would be very pleased if the daughter had 6 kids by 6 different men.
In reality, most "conservative" fathers would hate that scenario and would even prefer a daughter remaining a virgin for the rest of her life, if the right man doesn't come along.
And I don't think it is about financially supporting the kids either.

To a large extent it is. Not only her kids though: a lot of ancient societies relied heavily on honour, reputation, favours and other "informal" social systems as their means of insurance and security. Offering a "pure, well-raised maiden" to the heir of another family (and he will certainly value her purity for paternity reasons!) establishes a bond of trust which the bio family of the bride can fall back on during hard times.

In more developed societies this somewhat devolved into assigning a more literal commercial value to the bride (e.g. political marriages among nobles) and sometimes traditions around dowry (intended to alleviate the burden of providing basic necessities to the bride for the rest of her life) warp to the point where marrying off a daughter actually constitutes a net loss financially but I'm pretty sure those situations arose later.

Or, for the downer interpretation: those 6 kids need to survive past puberty to spread their DNA, and before then the mother needs to survive 6 births and the time in between. Life in ancient times sucked for pretty much everyone by our standards but especially so for a post-partum mother with no loyal breadwinner to provide for her.
