Thanks! I didn't use daz. 3D models are made by myself or kitbashed. I used Blender to render some of the images but most of time I'm using a program called Houdini to do the 3D stuffgreat art style!
is it done in daz or blender?
also love the atmosphere
wow pretty badass~Thanks! I didn't use daz. 3D models are made by myself or kitbashed. I used Blender to render some of the images but most of time I'm using a program called Houdini to do the 3D stuff
Yea I'm also working professionally as a game artist. But feeling more and more insecure about staying in a company. So I'm trying to start my own business. This game I'm making is the first step and an experiment for me to get the direction right. A good thing about making a renpy game is that I can do it cheap and quick (compared to some other 3D games), so I can do more trial and errors.wow pretty badass~
those daz look everywhere is getting tiresome
i could tell from the start you are cooking sth different
i heard only industry pro use houdini, did you do pro work on 3D before?
can't wait for your game
ya i think most dev that use daz are not at pro level to create distinct look and simply use asset from the store, so after a while they all look very samey..Yea I'm also working professionally as a game artist. I tried to use daz before, but I just couldn't get to work with it efficiently. Recently I've been thinking maybe I should go back to daz tho. I didn't use daz because most character assets I looked up were pretty realistic and they were not the look I want to pursue. Initially, instead of painting over every render, I was thinking to find a way to have the 3D render to have the look of my painting style, but soon I figured it's something that may take me way too much time to experiment with and now my 3D renders are just for me to block out the composition, so it doesn't really matter what I use for my rendering anymore. My custom rigs are not very easy to work with either
The flood is connected to the story. It's a literary device for creating the gothic situation but it's not random.Curious on the flood and entrapment situation , is it something that just happens or is it woven into the story line?.The renders look great if Daz cannot pull it off don't because as previously stated the (Daz Render Look) is too common (yeah ppl can use shaders etc but they not).Your renders have a unique and distinct visual style which it self can be a marketable / brandable asset , wouldn't recommned giving it up.
You can look into thisYou must be registered to see the linksnever used houdini before or that plugin but also know you can import the poses from daz to blender and work there instead.
Wtf sort of wizardy is this for the mouth? Also nice with the flooding and gothic horror/suspense theme. The flood is connected to the story. It's a literary device for creating the gothic situation but it's not random.
I'm moving my rigs to DAZ because I just figured how to fully utilize the DAZ rig (I was pretty new to this a few months ago). So far I feel DAZ rig is great. It offers flexible controls of all humanoid model for all styles. The only reason I was not using it was that I was skeptical about the flexibility of bring data out from DAZ and bring data in. For example, say I want to bring an animated Genesis 8 rig out from DAZ, how do I ensure all the driven keys set in the rig would still be there and still editable outside. But now I've somewhat figured that out.
My original rig does not have a good facial control and deformations and for every image I make I need to spend a good amount of time to sculpt the expression. Being able to have a robust facial control in no time in DAZ like below is great. I can bring the posed character out and render it somewhere else easily. I will need to paint over a lot to get the look I want currently anyway.
And thank you for the recommendation. I feel like I can use it in somewhere.

It's what daz genesis offer. There is a face control asset to set up the visual control. I think the face control asset is free for genesis 9 and takes a few bucks for genesis 8Wtf sort of wizardy is this for the mouth? Also nice with the flooding and gothic horror/suspense theme.
