Review for v0.5

Pros:
- good animations, textures, visuals. +1 for those, otherwise it would be 3 stars.
- decent story/premise as far as porn games go. Yes, mind control, but premise of how they work and having to train them is good enough.

Cons:
- all women have comically huge tits. I mean, I don't mind SOME of that, but literally every female whose tits MC is seeing, is apparently having trouble staying upright due to those huge milkers.
- all women are fit as fuck. and i mean they're either aspiring or proficient (Alex) bodybuilders, with ripping abs. The closest you get to normal smooth skin or even to some imperfections, is some cellulite marks on thighs -- but even those are on bodies toned to perfection.
- all women have bubble butts. I mean, come on?
- MC is a wet blanket. A pretty dumb wet blanket.
- choices don't seem to matter. Even mind control options seem to be something useful for a sandbox... which isn't really present here. game should probably have "kinetic novel" tag.
- choices don't matter even in just choosing which room to go to. in school, later on you have options to go to 3 places, but you are only allowed to visit 1st place (teachers lounge), then 2nd (cafeteria), then 3d (gym), despite seeing them all... and you can't go out of school even though exit is present. okay.. technically why not, but in practice, why? i can only imagine the game will want to be more sandboxy with different paths in future. hopefully.

Premise is ancient conspiracy, mind control powers and hijinks...and it's done well.

The dev is quite ambitious with the animations. There's alot of sex and non-sex ones and they're real nice and improve over the course of the game. I'm a bit wary of the game size given the amount put in the game so far and there may be too many to justify them.

The game started development awhile ago, with some renpy jank and grainy renders here and there, but this gets better with updates. For example, the transitions between scenes/animations feel a little odd, the UI feels off.

At time of review, the latest chapter 5 of the story has reached a point where I'm keen to find out more about what's going on with the story. However, there appears to be quite abit of time between the updates

Oh boy, let's start with the first thing I found annoying, meaningless choices. The first time I was asked to make a choice to accompany a shady woman into a car, I said no and it didn't matter because the MC is a gigantic virgin. This brings me to another problem, but that's for later.

Right after that, you try to get out of the car and she pulls a gun on you. How predictable. Either way, you get introduced to another guy and once guy, your choices don't matter at all. You try to play dumb, but the MC spills everything anyway. For the next choice, the same lady visits the MC and you can choose to blow her off but the MC gets humiliated once again and this time even worse.

The next time she visits you at work, but this time the game drops all pretences and doesn't even give you the illusion of a choice. The MC decides all by himself on a major choice. Why? Because he is a virgin loser. In the end, he gets tied up in the bed and humiliated yet again. I guess that's the one time he gets humiliated and you can call it kink or whatever. But my guess is no one playing a game about mind control is looking for that.

Aside from that, the characters are one-dimensional and the scenes are cliché. You will see nothing that hasn't been done before and the execution isn't good either.

I enjoy this game, it's a big story world. I am happy to see it return with an update.

Critiques, some of the graphics are grainy and the content is still sparse. I assume the Dev is working with limited time and resources. I am grateful for what they have produced thus far.

Looking forward to the next installation, hopefully with a deepening of the relationship with Zoe.

Interesting story with flashbacks to different epochs.
There are some simple statistics whichhowever make the game more interesting as it requires some planning and gives a sense of achievement when you unlock some scene.

Minus one star for the fascination with big, muscled women. They are totally not my cup of tea.

Art's alright. Faces are super tatery and have the uncanny valley agelessness issues, but no moreso than most 3d renders.

Writing is fine. Scenario's been done but narrative doesn't make it too tiresome. Characterization is strong and not too cringe, with the exception of not-mom making me want to use the MC's newfound powers to force choke a bitch.

Porn was fine, what I found of it.

TLDR: pretty solid~

I found this game frustrating. I like most of the women, they are sexy very well done. I'm not too bothered that most of their personalities are over used types from other games as is the MC. No what I found exacerbating was that the sex scenes auto play, the animated sections loop for about 2 seconds (if that) then the scene moves on. It made the sex scenes very short and you'd have to be pretty quick on the trigger to rub one out before time ran out. I want to be in control of the lewd bits and able to make them last as long or short as I wish. Very annoying and spoiled what was a great looking game. I stopped playing after the Roman era scene, so short never had time to even whip it out lol.

I have to update this and say, after being informed that the autoplay scenes problem had been addressed and that the scenes after the Roman one had had autoplay removed, I went back and found it to be true. What's more the scene with Jenny was awesome, Kudos, very sexy, good smooth animation and varied positions and camera angles. Some of the other animations were a little off. Mostly due to trying to work more than one movement into a single loop, which causes a noticeable start and end to a loop. All in all though not the worst I've seen. Strangely though I found I wasn't skipping through the text. I do in most games, as an older guy with 2 adult sons I generally find game stories juvenile. I did notice the women suffer from a common affliction in adult games. They use vernacular common to internet forums. Thus they sound more like guys than girls. All in all things do improve dramatically after the beginning and it deserves an extra star now.

Very well made game thus far. I find it hard to get myself into mind control games like these but dev added original elements to the recipe to produce something refreshing. Memory stone segments are cool backstories with alternative history tropes and with secret societies at war and all, the game gives Assassins Creed vibe. Bath fantasies are cool too with rule 34 content. Lewd content is top class with animations and sound and all also with BDSM kinks. I enjoyed the short playtime that I had. There is a possibility of path branching in the future as I see.

Only downsides I can think of:

- Dev is into muscular/athletic, veiny, big titted women so the females you encounter are generally that type. If you are turned off by this, game can get stale, was not a problem for me tbh.
- No gallery to review the scenes yet.

Other than these the game just works for me and provides enjoyment.

Update 0.5. Unexpected surprise. Lots of content, although it took a long time. First of all, it's fun. The game gives the player a choice, you can control the minds of women as you wish. Secondly, the characters are very hot, the rendering and animations are impressive.

License plate on the front of a car with Florida plates and a Range Rover being used as a taxi?! Talk about suspension of disbelief.

Other than those two major flaws, I enjoy this game. Fun story and attractive females. It does need some updating of the English, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the ride. Def subbed to Patreon because I want to watch this game develop.

Normally I hate sandbox games. This one was very hot and didn't contain needless grind. I'm excited for the next update. I'd recommend anyone that enjoys mind control give this a try. I'm hoping more games will follow similar paths of hot control.

The MC is a spineless, loser and huge simp, acts like a wimp and the problem is the gameplay doesn't let you be otherwise. If you are into playing as a passive and pathetic MC who gets treated by everyone and you can't ever decide to change it, this is for you. If you want to be Sigma, then oh boy this game will get angry as hell. I can't rate it lower than a single star for the game as it is.

Great game with even greater story. I miss little bit more open sandbox, but still Its one of good mind controling games. Art is amazing, I kinda miss some girl with small breaths. But overall great game.

Nice graphics, somewhat decent story, have to agree that it's too short. Maybe free roam and side quests with extra tags added, feel that existing characters are enough to continue but maybe add more "fetishes"

The mind society [ v0.4.4b ]

Good game. A mind controlling surprisingly with a good story. Most of the mind controlling game offers only sex part with no story. But this one got a nice story. And there is sound effects to make it more immersive. I liked past stories too it makes game more interesting. And non canon dreams are nice too. Sandbox is not grindy but there is no hint system but you can easily navigate and progress story. No need to skip the time or anything. Renders are good too. But I'm not a big fan of these body proportions but I don't mind it in this one. Cause I loved the story. Dev is surely talented the non lewd animations are done nicely.

As in the current version there aren't much content to play, but still it has great potential to be, in my opinion, one of the top lewd games.
The concept of mind control is nothing new in the catalog of lewd game themes, but the way The Mind Society applies it to the story is really impressive. The sudden realization of your power, the revelation of shady society and the intricate plot and conspiracies within the story is told with a consistent progression that manages to keep you engaged the whole time. The addition of ancient memories not only adds layers to the lore but serves as the inseparable part of the game mechanic.
The renders are basic in comparison with other amazing lewd games but still manageable. The animation in most lewd games are very amazing. The character arcs are portrayed very convincingly, and the progression in controlling every girls you encounter is very engaging.
There're some typos that need to be corrected, hope future updates will solve this problem.
Overall, The Mind Society is a very amazing lewd game that manages to present the theme of mind control in a very interesting way. Highly recommend it.

Edit: I replayed this from the beginning because it'd been a while since the last update and the broken English initially didn't bother me as much because the game was interesting. However, now that the novelty as worn off all of it just sticks out like a sore thumb. It's a shame, it really is a great game. I just wish they took more care in proofreading.

Gameplay mechanic is really interesting. Well thought-out: has a sense of progression, easy to figure out, simple yet engaging. The memory stones add to the lore but aren’t just a plot device and actually serve a function that adds to the powers. There's a coherent story that isn't just copy-and-paste tropes but it doesn't feel like it's dragging you along and allows you to use your powers as well in what I think is a balanced way to do VN and sandbox.

The model renders look great, although a little more variation in body types would be nice. The environment renders also look good. There are also little things like the "loading" transition that give it its own unique touch which I can appreciate.

There are typos and weird phrasing/incorrect words here and there but it's not that bad at the beginning. It gets a little worse towards the end of the update but overall, it's not so bad that it's distracting. However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to proofread things with more scrutiny moving forward.

It's not a unique premise but the way it's handled is pretty solid and has a different spin on it. Feels like I'm watching a tv show rather than playing something (which could tell you that it's actually an interesting story). It's still early in development but I look forward to future updates.

You will note that the dev is very talented with the visual display and story telling - this is indeed a high quality game! In fact, it contains possibly the smoothest, most realistic renders I have seen so far in a (Renpy) game.
For instance, there is a great technique where a video is inserted as a background giving the illusion of a car moving through scenery. Very creative!
Also, I enjoyed the embedded stories to ancient times. Gives everybody who has played Assassin's Creed a smile on their face.

Unfortunately, the story ends abruptly and feels too short. Two other minor downsides are for one, the mental power system is never explained regarding their number values and the D and C types. And also, while the story telling is great, some texts are unnecessarily long with little benefit to the story.

But overall a great game, I really hope it gets a lot more content and a nice finish eventually.

The characters are breathtaking. The renders are amazing the detail in the skin texture is almost the best I've seen. The only problem i have is the time period between the updates but hey quality work takes time. Please be patient with the developers.
Bonus: The mc's mother and the tomboy sister is perfection. Please WE NEED MORE TOMBOYS and milfs with wrinkles not barbie looking dolls
