Edit: Game is out
For those curious about my next game, and others who might find the idea interesting, here is what I can tell and show you right now.
The game will be made in HTML/SugarCube and it will be a mystery detective game with some very adult themes concerning sex and religion. Think of a mix of
You will play as a priest, sent to a convent of nuns to investigate a series of mysterious incidents, involving nightly attacks on the nuns when they sleep. The nuns believe a supernatural entity they call "The Crone" is behind the attacks. The Crone is an old, crooked nun that has been spotted in the hallways at night.
The monastery is divided in half by a wall. This is because the nuns share the monastery with an order of monks. The two groups live on each side of the wall to ensure that they will never meet or see each other. Out of sight, out of mind. This is to ensure that they all remain celibate. During your investigation, you will spend most of your time in the monastery and can freely travel between the monks and the nuns through the only available passage: a locked door which you are granted the key to.
Note: The attached images are from early work in progress. (Updated Nov 25 2021)
In the beginning of the game, you will be a celibate priest, free of sin. As implied by the stats seen to the left in the first image, things will "happen" during your stay in the monastery that may send you down a path of sin and corruption.
In image two, you have just arrived to the monastery and look at a young girl studying outside the school for young women. Although you may occasionally visit the school, the main part of the game will take place inside the monastery.
This gif is an example of what you might see if you happen to peek into the nuns' communal bathroom... when they are NOT bathing.
Showing one of the choices you will get where you can raise trust or authority with the nuns.
In this image, you have a bird's view of the interior of the nuns' part of the monastery.
That's about all I can reveal right now as I'm still months away from an official first release.
