There are several mutants, such as Kurt, who were actually born with their physical appearances. So while you can stop Kurt from BAMFing, you can't make his skin not blue because that's the OCA2 gene... among many others that I'm not being paid to educate you on.

I distinguish it in my head as Mutant-gene activated powers and mutant gene grown powers. The latter being powers where they occurred due to a mutant gene, but do not need to be maintained by it. Like, angel needed a mutant gene to grow his wings, but he doesn't need the gene to *use* the wings (though now I wonder if they would atrophy if nullified for long enough, huh...)

I just checked Angel's wiki page and I don't think the dude actually has powers that can be nullified.

All of his abilities stem from having bird characteristics that grew as he aged.

This is different from say Colossus' power. The wiki attributes all of his abilities to his metal form exclusively. So if Null can nullify Colossus... Well he's still up against a Russian man built like a semi-truck but a Null with an Athletic scholarship and training from X-23 could theoretically take a depowered Colossus.
