Null seems to be a lot like piccolo, he gets his ass kicked all the time, but he also has a bunch of ill defined powers that just show up like the limited morphing perk. Maybe he will be able to fly and special beam cannon in the future
More like Ichigo from Bleach. Unlocks new powers/bloodlines/whatever when he gets beaten to an inch from death.

I really hope Null will fly someday. He was so looking forward to it and then bummed when Xavier told him he didn't have a flying power in the intro. :ROFLMAO:

There's very few things I'd consider myself to be an expert in, but this is one of them. When I say we've considered what kind of ramifications even slight changes to the timeline would have, I'm not joking. Hell, my 'audition' for joining the team was to rewrite a key event from the comics with Laura as part of the team, but without having her replace someone else wholesale, so we've definitely got one eye on imagining what having characters like her on the team will change. And there's some stuff coming up in later years that I promise no one will see coming, one event in particular that I genuinely wish I could spoil in advance that I'm really proud of. But between the pair of us, Shiny and myself have gone to scary levels of depth in working out how and where things will go.
We already had her art and some of her writing. Same with Rogue.

If we went with a hard reset instead, the initial line up would be Jean, Polaris, and Storm.
After reading a fair amount of text here, I realized that it is very important for you to match the original comics, and you spend a lot of effort on this so that everything is canon, and you do not want to add anything of your own.
And here is the question, did you have so much ready-made content on X-23 that you decided to violate the location of the characters in the timelines?
It just seems to me personally that if you spend so much effort to make everything according to canon, then maybe it was worth discarding X-23? She will still take up a small part of the entire content (1 girl out of 15). So you will not lose much, but you will get rid of the problems with how to fit her in, and you will be able to 100% correspond to the canon that you are trying to adhere to, and something that you can confidently point to if the situation requires it. At the same time, Rogue should be moved further in the game, because as I understand it, she also appeared earlier than necessary, but it is still possible to squeeze in later with other girls (???)

And the content with X-23 does not necessarily have to be thrown out, it can be put off for later, and used when she grows up (For example, in TNH 2) So the efforts of the artists will not be wasted, or just use her body for the girl who will have to come out, who is very similar to her physically, then you won’t even have to throw anything out or put it off.

Well, Rogue was moved by moving her further in the game, because as I understand it, she also appeared earlier than necessary, but it is still possible to squeeze her in later with other girls.

Heresy I shan't hear (read) anymore of this nonsense! But for real yea it was pretty much they had a bunch of her art ready before they decided on the original lineup so they changed the story a bit in order for her to work. I think originally her spot was supposed to be Polaris(?) but they didn't have enough art for her. I'm not very familiar with the timeline/lore so maybe that still doesn't make sense /shrug.

If we go by timeline then we wouldnt get Rogue either.
We would have Jean-Lorna-Storm as beggining trio.
If you want to skip the very beggining, that would still be Jean-Storm-Magik and/or Kitty.

Yeah, from what I understand, they had enough content for Rogue and X-23 in the beginning before they decided to make this its own project that they decided to keep them and adjust the timeline to account for it. No matter what they do, they can't possibly 100% correspond to canon, there are going to be edges that have to be sanded down, moved around, judgement calls made, not to mention inconsistencies within the material itself.

I don't think taking away two of the three girls they've got substantial content for right now would be a... brilliant decision. Even temporarily.

If Null starts aura farming like Piccolo and shouts HELLZONE GRENADE (most fucking awesome badass shit for a name ever made) when spraying his jizz on the hoes, I'll support TNH in Patreon.

From the-list-of-no on discord

"Female Player Character: It's something we want to do but we'd basically be making two games at once. Maybe down the line but right now it would add a lot to the work load and make updates much slower."
Oki doki, thanksies for telling me about the Discord updates. I'm really hoping that it will happen eventually.

you, me, and a hella lot of other people <3

though I totally agree with their decision to not think about it until much later. not as simple as tweaking a few art assets and replacing all the "he"s with "she"s

Beware my game is seriously bugged at the moment after upgrading to 0.8b. I've reported it on the Discord but Ron Chon is probably asleep rn or something.

UPDATE: It was a problem with preloading characters, it's fixed now in a new version of 0.8b uploaded this morning. Same DL link as above.

I'll include the traceback here for any wizards that are curious. Also some screenshots of what is happening.

The amount of the effort put in the game is impressive.
Tha-

Too bad it just has too many features for me to care.
-nks... :(

Theres no such a thing as a score.
You are playing Null, but how Null is, its up to you, you can be edgy, heroic or pragmatic, and the characters will react to that.
Same with the girls, their points arent limited by events but by your interactions with them, you dont need to min-max them, maybe something that had a negative point impact in one scene, will later give you a boost in love and trust because the girl realizes you were trying to help her, this isnt a "number go up to poontang time" game.
This has been by design from day one of me being on the team.

Sometimes taking a point hit can lead to something special later on. We are very anti-min-maxing.

We do allow SOME room for it since speed running Rogue-Like was a hobby of many.

More seriously though, even before 1.1 comes with the new story content, 1.0 will probably add a lot of scenes and such too.
There will be a lot of sex and headpats added to the game before 1.1 so unless someone is holding out for a chapter 2 girl I don't know why people keep saying they're gonna wait.

at what point in romancing do the girls start getting mad for you seeing the others?
As others have said, when you've committed to a relationship.

Also is there a trick to getting certain events to spawn? because I CANNOT get x 23 to train at night and its completely locked me off of progressing her quests.
RNG is a bitch. We're actively combatting it.

...Wait, what?! Since when did Consent Simulator™have THIS level of leniency?!
Since we had so many complaints. Like we gave y'all anal as a trade for the upgraded poly system.

I only started playing at 0.6a or b. If it was different before that I don't know, sorry.
Dude, where is your icon from? I want it.

And what happens if I make her climax more than 100 times?

I remember people telling us the sex system was too hard.

Nah. Rogue just has a perfect 30 day cycle and because it's lewd game land , it's always day 5 until the plot needs it otherwise(y)

In actuality I think I remember dialogue about them all being on a pill.
Yeah. There's just 5 years of really strong bc pills because everyone thought strategically planning around gut punches was too weird.

And she is horny?
Jean has the highest sex drive. It's a sad irony that she is both the oldest and most able to obtain a physical relationship without possibly murdering someone or putting them into a coma. But failed at understanding people which had her holding onto her V card due to kinda having a stick up her ass, and not in the fun way.

This is why you can do almost all of her generic sex content a full season before the other two. Eagerness + proper sex ed.

if someone was changed by an accident, but that change effectively made an edit to their DNA which was basically the same as the X Gene
I cannot confirm nor deny things about Null's powers that isn't expressly stated in the game, like them not working on magic like Juggernaut, but I can and will state that Peter Parker will likely remain sticky if touched the right wrong way.

which is why (from my understanding) he eventually gets old and dies.
Your understanding is correct.

I really hope Null will fly someday. He was so looking forward to it and then bummed when Xavier told him he didn't have a flying power in the intro. :ROFLMAO:
He was told he could go to jetpack classes though, honestly that seemed to exite the boy more than a mansion filled with thirsty mutant girls.
This is actually in response to a lot of discussion on Null's traversal capabilities and jetpacks winning by a large margin.

We actually don't care about matching the original comics beat for beat. As some will notice we're comic authentic. Jean still has her Evo casual outfit and Laura's eye color doesn't match any prior source material.

Will we ever get a female protagonist to play? Does anybody here know? :3

We really, REALLY want a female Null option. Though as Geese said it's a lot more complicated than it sounds.

Just take a look at Love and Sex: Second Base. They tried it, it burnt them, and they made the smart decision to focus on the male protag's content. Now they're putting out the female protag's content without worrying about either falling behind.
