Ren'Py - Completed - The Pilgrimage [v2.10] [Messman]

For me the game is a solid 5/5.
It has a style of gameplay that I like and it's full of animated scenes with sound effects.
The story is good enough to drive the game forward, while the gameplay is based mostly on exploration with a little grind.
There are literally hundreds of possible defeat scenes with different monsters and aliens. I can't remember if I even seen a game with that amount of scenes.
One big downside for me is that I'm not a huge fan of bestiality and especially insectoids.
But I can mostly look beside it and image that it's me filling Tali's holes.
And I must say that Tali's model is extreme hot and she has a really cute face.

I expected a lore heavy visual novel that would reuse the lore and characters from Mass Effect but it ends up being just the excuse to make a game about an alien humanoid chick getting fucked by other aliens and it's perfect
Story : As said previously, an excuse to move forward the story but it's fine, just enough so you can get the character fucked in less than 10 minutes
Gameplay : A visual novel with some interactive elements and lots of animations, very polished and solid, I didn't find any bugs
Porn/Visuals : A good amount with lots of variations taking into account the 3 stages of corruption, some animations are more polished than others but REALLY hot nonetheless
Overall, a very enjoyable short visual novel, I can't wait for the next part, huge props to the developer for such an steady development with constant releases

Edit : Also,I'm a bit mad there are no multiple endings but since the dev has said it's for the benefit of the story after, then I won't hold it against him for now

Animations are not the best quality but the game itself is good. Love the variety of events depending on the lewd level and the exploration. Some gameplay mechanics may be tedious and repetitive, but overall experience is fun to watch. Also appreciate keeping the popular characters out of main story and solely focusing on Tali and her adventures. Really good stuff, can't wait for part 2.

Beautiful animations (especially the latest ones) , interesting story and interactive gameplay. The best game I played that was programmed in Ren'Py , and last but not least featuring the best girl from Mass Effect.

Fantastic lewd content. The scenarios Tali finds herself in are very tantalizing, and just when I think it can't get better, a new set of animations, positions, and creatures are revealed as Tali becomes even more lewd. Even the writing for her inner thoughts gets hotter over time as she loosens up and begins to enjoy herself.

The story is simple enough to stay interesting without being needlessly complicated and the progression of events that lead Tali from one lewd scenario to the next are believable and still interesting throughout. The cast of characters are fun to interact with and learn about, and the changes to Tali over the course of the story have been great to witness.

Animations are a little rough around the edges but also have a unique charm to them, and the content more than makes up for it. Genuinely some great sex scenes and the animations are good enough that they help more than they hurt. No real complaints.

Audio could use some work however, once the final product is nearing completion. The sound effects used so far aren't my favourite to be honest. It's better than not having any sound at all but because the animation loops are short, the audio paired with it is choppy and doesn't sound the greatest in some scenes. The voices used are fine, but it's easy to tell which are AI and I would prefer a proper voice actress for the moans, gags, slurping, and other lewd sounds. I believe some VA's even have sound libraries that can be purchased for this exact scenario - for lewd audio that can be used in projects without the need to record custom content. Not a huge deal breaker, and having audio to begin with sets it apart from so many other games that have none at all, but could use some tweaks in the future.

Overall it's a fantastic game that will continue to be on my radar. Can't wait to see what's next for this talented creator, whether it's more Mass Effect or a different franchise.

The content of this game is the one I've played the most, and every scene is animated. Not to mention, the animation quality is extremely high. Time flies by as I play, and I hope this game continues to be updated like this!)

The animations are very good. Fluid dynamics are included in the game also and are good quality. The story and exploration part are well written, programmed and animated.

Simple combat system including crafting/buyables. Its simple but effective and a bonus for those who just want the scenes without alot of fighting.

Has bad endings which are well written and animated. Includes a few plot twist which I won't mention here.

A very well thought out game.

just bring new slug events
These events with slugs and insects in tight places are very exciting, especially when the slug gets stuck to the butt and it keeps crawling in the ducts, bring more variations of slugs, and there could be an event or some item that could get the slug stuck in the ass all day, like a feminine pad.

I was a bit hesitant to give this a try, since I put a lot of time into Mass Effect back when it was new, and was worried this would be some low-effort porn that doesn't capture the feel of it. 100% wrong on my part, this is the real deal. Some shortcomings for sure - 'combat' is kind of extraneous, there's repetition where there doesn't need to be - but on a fan game, nothing even worth losing a 5-star rating. It's hot and horny, but more than that it's obviously made by folks who get Mass Effect and put real effort into making a Mass Effect porn game, not just a porn game with Mass Effect CG models in it. Pour more story and characters in and I could easily get properly invested in this as an RPG, as it is it's still a ton of fun, and I'd highly recommend anyone who likes the sound of Tali getting her inhibitions thoroughly ruined in a fun and very varied series of escapades give this a try.

I love games where you slowly corrupt the mc and this game is perfect if you want to see tali get corrupted by monster cock I kept thinking i about finished what was left of the current story only to find new areas and cutscenes high quality art and alot of it

If you are into this kind of thing - this is straight out perfect. I 'binged' it in few hours. animations are beautiful. story actually captivating. Maybe too little characters to interact with, but, then again - early version + "not exactly 'human' interaction orriented game".
It's wonderful. I will most likely support creator.

Excellent game with dev answering questions at the forum regularly and giving regular updates every month and a half or two. Highly recommend it as one of if not the best games still coming out these days.

I'm not quite sure why this is held in such a high regard by so many. Is it just the Mass Effect IP? I played for about an hour, so it might "get better 5 hours in". Also, 10 GB? Geez.

Gameplay:
I do not understand this need some AVN devs have to include sandbox or gameplay elements that aren't even worthy of the name. Either you go all in, build some complex and satisfying gameplay elements and build the game entirely on top of that or you make some (very) short and sweet standalone minigames before going for the lewds. This one is neither. Its gameplay is required to progress and it also features the ever so lovely "corruption" stat which you'll grind ever so slowly while encountering the same scenes over and over again. Granted, at least the grind is not as bad as some other games.

There's a repetetive sandbox where you visit the same rooms over, scan for interactable parts (some of which still have an unintentional outline around them that make the entire thing look cheap) and do that over and over again to collect some "tech parts". After you found the three spawn spots for interactable loot you're basically left to grind and continue whenever the game proceeds to the next stage.
Every now and then a monster interrupts you and you're thrown into a very very basic combat scenario where you either wait for time to run out or you click one of the like 3 options you got.
Lose and you're rewarded by some plain and boring monster on quarian action.

Progress itself seems to advance by collecting enough "tech parts" to complete certain "quests" or simply by sleeping often enough.
Later on some decryption and monster dog minigame is introduced which feels entirely tacked on. You click when the slow moving cursor is in the right spot. That's it.
To the game's credit all of its mechanics are explained, though I found myself stuck a couple of times on how to advance the game progress.

Visuals:
You can judge the visuals for yourself. To be frank I find Tali's model rather ugly. The remaining models are at best mediocre as well.
The stop motion animations were not particularly impressive with short loops of a handful of key frames at most.
Scenes, just the ship frankly, are not well lit but at least they are somewhat consistent.

Plot:
Tali is on her pilgrimage, tries to scavenge some derelict ship and immediately loses her ship, gets raped by some wild monster and now "works with" some pirates trying to fix their pirate ship. That's about it and about as far as I read before I just skimmed through most dialog. I'm familiar with the setting though you really don't need the background knowledge to get what's going on. You might recognize the species and are immediately familiar when organisations like the Alliance or Cerberus are mentioned. But for all intents and purposes a lot of the world building is thrown out for the lewds anyhow (a futa Asari, Tali being far too unbothered by her suit being damaged, Tali being a nympho...).
Given those liberties I didn't expect much from the story and I certainly wasn't looking forward to 5 to 10 minutes more grind before the plot actually progressed.

Conclusion
Granted, I'm not a big Tali or Mass Effect fan and I dislike monster rape games. But even despite that, I fail to see how this game is held in the same regard as more well narrated, less sandbox-y and/or visually pleasing games on this site.
If you're not head over heels into Tali and/or monster action I wouldn't bother with this one.

+ Excellent graphics and animation.
+ Nice setting (for those who love Mass Effect).
+ Lots of different events.

- Many events have a short text description.
- Fetishes are not for everyone (personally, I don’t understand how meter-long dicks fit into a quarian, but that’s a matter of taste).
- There is some unreality. Do you know plumber porn? It’s the same here, only with space plumbers. Yes, this is a porn space game, but such moments can be realized more realistically.

Overall: the game is very good, despite the listed disadvantages (and these disadvantages are subjective).

One of the best if not the best sandbox game ever. Scenes are repeatable, no tedious grinding, game overs are easily avoidable and stated in the changelog. It has one of the smoothest animations I've ever seen (the new animations that is). So much content to explore and a little bit of everything for everyone.

Don't get why this game is rated so highly, the visuals and renders are mediocre at best. The amount of story content that is available for a v2.0 release is very lackluster and the gameplay is split up in 2 main parts, the first part becomes very repetitive very quick. Every day you wake up click all the boxes in each room and go to sleep until you get a message that you can progress further in the story quest (which sometimes takes a while so you just end up spamming sleep several days in a row). And the second part is this clunky maze you have to traverse which is very disorienting and doesn't feel nice at all to play through. The sex scenes themselves are few and far between if you don't count the repeatable monster scenes. Perhaps if you are a fan of mass effect you'd enjoy this game.

Awesome Dev, great game, great community. This is literally the first and only game i have ever supported financially. I hope he keeps up the great work. In fact, if this game ever has an actual end, I'll support the devs future endeavors, because i feel like he genuinely listens to comments people have, and recommendations. English isn't even his first language, and he does a pretty good job.

Probably the best game of it's kind I've ever played! Visually stunning, the game focuses on rough, hard submissive sex, teasing etc. around a whole range of different creatures from humanoids to monsters to just about everything else I can imagine.

Where many VN's are so verbose you're forced to skip just to get to the stuff you're there for inside an hour - which ironically defeats both the story and the fun stuff -, here the pacing is spot on. The story and characters are interesting, but they never forget about the fun stuff. There's a reason to go back and visit old content for new scenes, yet the game most definitely is not grindy. Where many H-games handle progression by forcing you through hours of tedium just to get to where the game even starts getting fun, here that process is both swift and fun in itself!

There's a lot more to say but really, if any of the above sounds like your thing, this game is an absolute must!
