Technically the king is out there too, the MC can have some sort of feelings developed for him, he thinks MC is some minor lady and it's possible we run into him. But that's a very unlikely scenario. There's also Robiers, but it's similarly not very likely. So yeah, my guess was also along the lines of either Merat or Simone. Merat has been acting dominant with MC and treating him like a boy toy to break since the beginning of the game, and i don't see this really changing just because MC shows up ordered by the Queen to "rescue" him.
