Exactly. I do want to continue work on the mod, but I feel like I would be contributing to piracy in some small way if I released a mod that contains modified game code of a paid-only private beta of a game whose creator thinks it has too many kinks in it to be public. I want to support the game, not the opposite. And also, I want the base game to be in a good place programmatically before I mod it. I've already had to add embarrassing safeguards into the game for programming mistakes I've made in past versions, and modding an experimental version of the game before it's ready seems like it could cause something like that. But this mod is not dead; I will return to it eventually. If the public release takes too much longer, I might just break down and make a new version anyway.
